  • Family park among the dunes of East Nairn, 15 miles from Inverness
  • Golf course, marina, beach and Moray Firth views
  • Pools, Jacuzzi, sauna, restaurant, bar, crazy golf and nature trails
With a handsome golf course on one side, a pretty marina filled with bobbing yachts on the other, and a panorama of golden sands and the sparkling Moray Firth in between, visitors to Nairn Lochloy Holiday Park certainly won’t find themselves short of a decent view… The park sits right among the dunes of beautiful East Nairn beach, about 15 miles from Inverness, making it a top spot for a Highland fling. Nairn Lochloy Holiday Park has excellent facilities for families: a kids' splash pool sits alongside the indoor pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and solarium; while the Star Landers and Freestyle kids’ clubs for tots to teens will have their imaginations running riot as they zoom into orbit at the Space Academy or travel back in time to solve an Egyptian mystery. With crazy golf, nature trails, and an outdoor play area too, there’s plenty of active fun to wear them out (and hopefully guarantee you some decent shut-eye). Grownups aren't neglected on the entertainment front either, with the all-singing, all-dancing Parkdean Troupers ensuring that the fun continues into the night at the Drifters family entertainment suite. Aside from the usual amenities, there’s also a restaurant, lounge bar and pizza parlour on site, plus plenty more food options in nearby Nairn.

Star Dunes fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Having pool and restaurant on site. Made a big difference due to awful weather.

Disliked: Asking for a pitch close to the toilets due to ankle injury and walking past an empty pitch right opposite the block. Not being able to swim after 4 o clock and then not being able to book in for the morning session because it was already full. Luckily they take a number of walk ins.

Liked: Location

Disliked: Showers are not fit for purpose . Looks to have had house hold shower units just fitted and not commercial ones. Either scolding hot or freezing cold with no in-between. Had to get the kids out as it was dangerous. No warning signs anywhere about the hot water and can't understand how they are not regulated to a certain temperature to stop scolding ? Toilet had come unbolted ,unstuck from the floor so it moves about . Toilet block is freezing and very run down , you would likely get a better one on a building site Complained to reception who said that we should have had the showers on at a certain setting as if it was set different to the neighbouring shower it wouldn't work properly . So if you go into the shower make sure to speak to the two people next to you and get your settings right lol. The manager would only offer vouchers and not a refund. Why would we want to come back ??? Very poor customer service ,The staff and owners need to go and stay at there own site for a few nights have a few showers and sit on the wonkey lose toliet and and then go to some other sites to see how it's properly done ..

Liked: Pitch, servicing, showers, location

Disliked: having to book swimming and other activities in advance, one of the draws of this park was the swimming pool. However when we arrived the swimming was booked for the entire week as were all the halloween activities. Due to our child being 11 the activities were not really an issue. They did have some swimming slots released each day for the following day but that involved being at reception at 9am as they booked out quickly. Also wifi did not reach the touring pitches at all which was not clear in the site description.

Liked: Good site with plenty of things to do. Restaurant was good and the food was lovely & staff were attentive Great access to the beach which was great Overall we enjoyed our stay at Lochloy, Nairn

Disliked: We felt that the showers needed upgraded as they were not very good or inviting Also felt disappointed that we had no Wi-Fi at the tourers site during our stay and we needed to keep in touch with family whilst we were away

Star Dunes fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: The touring part of the site is literally 3 minutes walk from a beautiful beach, near many wonderful cycle trails and is peaceful but with the restuarant and facilities a short walk away. Swimming pool is small but warm - shower/changing area is a little run down. Great for children and the entertainment team work very hard. Food in the restuarant is lovely as is the service.

Disliked: The toilet block is delapitated and needs much TLC. Dirty toilets and broken showers (the shower head in one shower is kept in place with a tied plastic bag). Rarely cleaned and cold. Overflowing rubbish bins, broken hand driers, mould on the floor - just sad really given that the cost to stay is more than at other sites. Also there is a daily charge for wifi and if you want to book online activities such as swimming you have to book online or be able to walk to reception during their open hours to book.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Location good and camping area on site was fairly private, although quite a walk from reception/bar area. Toilets were clean and well kept. Pitch sizes were small but our 4 man Sendero tent fitted no problem. In a wooded area, lots of pine cones but these were easy cleared before putting the tent up. No smell/noise from water plant located next door. Would definitely stay again.
