It’s a small secluded site near the very big stones of the Stonehenge World Heritage Site, and this fully landscaped park will have guests pitching up to high standards. The one-acre, family-run Stonehenge Caravan Park is the nearest camping, motorhome and touring site to the famous stones, and the plentiful facilities include sinks, a dishwashing area and a heated shower block with spanking new piping hot power showers.
There’s wifi available for campers – ask staff for the passcode – and campfires are allowed so you can have a Stonehenge singsong. The family pooch will love the site too, as it’s dog-friendly and there are enough good walks nearby to keep even the most energetic pet happy. And it’s open all year round, so perfect for autumn and winter breaks. There’s a strict noise and lights-out policy here, so this is the place to stay if you want to be up with the lark to visit the famous stones.
Foodwise a stay here is also up to standard, with eight pubs within walking distance dishing up top pub grub - The Boot Inn at Berwick St James and The Bell Inn at Winterbourne Stoke are the closest, both a level 5-10 minute walk away. An easy footpath walk away is the well-stocked Berwick Farm Shop for everything needed when Stonehenge camping, and there’s also a mini market and a supermarket within a short drive, as well as fresh eggs and meat available from local suppliers. And if you’re feeling particularly lazy, there are Chinese and Indian takeaways in nearby Larkhill and Amesbury which offer pitchside deliveries.
