Long Hazel Park is an exclusively-for-adults luxury touring and holiday lodge park set in 3.5 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds surrounded by trees but on the edge of a village location. The park facilities are of a very high standard with large gravelled hardstandings and lawns. We have been voted one of VisitEngland's top 10 camping and caravanning destinations in the UK.
We have 50 electric hook-ups, all at 16 amps, and we can accommodate the largest motor homes easily. The access is excellent - straight off the A303 into the high street and up our private two-lane road.
Nearby attractions and activities
We have a village inn and restaurant 100 metres to our left in the high street where the bus stop is located. We also have a Spar Shop and garage with service station 400 metres to our right.
Long Hazel Park is situated half-way along the Leland Trail, with ample country walks in the surrounding area. Of great historical importance is King Arthur's Camelot at South Cadbury, which has gained Long Hazel Park celebrity status from VisitEngland due to our proximity to this Iron Age hillfort. Providing spectacular views across Somerset and Dorset, it is a must-see on your visit. We are also on a great many cycle routes.
Haynes International Motor Museum is a mere half mile away from our Park and houses an exceptional range of motor cars and bikes, with fantastic events all year round. RNAS Yeovilton and Fleet Air Arm Museum are two miles away, with the annual Yeovilton Air Show proving a popular event for many of our visitors. The Naval Museum of Aircraft also holds events all year, ranging from live bands in the aircraft hanger to sci-fi conventions.
Many mystical and historical sights can be viewed in Somerset and the surrounding area. We recommend Glastonbury Tor and Abbey, Wells Cathedral and Cheddar Gorge as just a few of the attractions which are within easy driving distance of our park.
Somerset is also home to fantastic shopping villages, such as Clarks Village and the Mulberry Factory Shop and Kilver Court. There are plenty of small villages nearby for unique shopping experiences, with local produce to sample and small galleries supporting local artists and designers. We are within a short distance of Castle Cary, Bruton and Yeovil and are a great base for a day trip to Bath or Bristol, both of which are homes to brand new shopping centres.
Many small festivals are held all year round in Somerset and are well worth looking out for. We are on bus routes for all local festivals and can provide luxury facilities after a muddy day!

A quiet family site with reasonable but limited facilities Dave R. (With friends, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: Quiet; very clean; accessible Disliked: facilities would have been crowded if the site had been fully booked
From the manager...
Thank you so much for this review. We have just had one of our busiest times of the year and all went very well with everyone finding our facilities more than adequate. As you may be aware, the AA and EnjoyEngland have set criteria for the ratio of showers, toilets and wash-hand basins to pitches and we have more than is required. We look forward to your return visit. |

Thank you very much for your kind comments. We are so pleased that your wife was able to benefit from our disabled suite. We have been able to provide this room to many of our disabled customers and they have all spoken highly of it. We also have a Blackforest Lodge that is fully converted for customers who are mobility impaired. We do explain to our customers that the strongest WiFi signal can be obtained in our Reception where there is seating and our customers can plug in their laptops to the mains supply to charge their laptops whilst they use them. The signal does cover an area of our Park nearest to the Reception and customers in tents have had no problems accessing WiFi - some have actually watched the Olympic Games on their laptops from their tents. Please take a look at our facebook page at www.facebook.com/longhazelpark where a customer has commented on the WiFi availability from her tent. We hope you will visit us again. |
