Our small and friendly campsite /touring park is situated on our farm in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the middle of the Mendip Hills, enjoying views across the Chew Valley.
Placed next to our bluebell wood it is an idylic spot and a great base to experience all that the Mendip Hills and Chew Valley has to offer. If you fancy getting back to nature but still would like to get out and about intio civilisation then Nettwood is the place for you.
Lovely views, fantastic wildlife, unspoilt countryside and peace and quiet (apart from the wonderful birdsong ) is all we have to offer except for some clean toilets, showers and a small play area for our little friends.
Campfires / barbeques are most welcome but please be considerate to fellow campers. We are happy for you to collect fallen wood from our woods to help you on your way.

The little ones would love a trip to Wookey Hole with caves to explore, a great play area, crazy golf and a lively circus.
Wells is within a 15-minute drive away with its stunning cathedral, lovely twice weekly traditional market and great pubs and eateries. A small city with a laid back feel.

Highly recommended,A small campsite,in a lovely location.Friendly too. Peter B. (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: Lovely location way out in the country, owners were very friendly. They would go out of their way to help.Toilet and shower area was lovely and clean, also warm.I really liked the fact they had a fridge freezer you could use,Very handy for keeping your beers cool or burgers fresh for the BBQ on the night. There are quite a few attractions nearby, although I have to admit we just went to ... Disliked: Not really anything to dislike.I suppose you need to remember it is a campsite to camp in,but do not expect swimming pools and shops etc on site.It is not that sort of site.Lovely though. |

Quiet, relaxed, great value for money and all in a beautiful location. lisa g. (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: The site itself was small enough to keep an eye on the kids and to get to know others around but felt spacious enough with empty fields all around and great views down the Chew valley. Disliked: Having to console my heartbroken daughter when we finally had to leave! |

Lovely site in beautiful setting tomkewycz (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos)
Liked: This is a small site in a quiet rural setting. Take note from helpful owners and arrive from the south of the village if towing as it could be a little tricky. Disliked: We did get a little bored of the commute into Bristol, most days taking 30-40mins but that was our own choice and I guess that may be shorter when Balloon Fiesta isn't on. |

WONDERFUL STAY!! Sarah M. (With friends, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: I thought the toilets and showers were very clean, the campsite was small and perfect for a few days of peace and quiet! The owners were lovely and very helpful! Disliked: We went over bank holiday weekend and so there were a few noisy groups of campers that came. Other than that it was perfect. |

Liked: back to basics, no shops, no bars, no noise (except happy campers), Disliked: The Weather, typical bank holiday weather. |

Liked: Friendly and quiet. Disliked: No privacy in showers i.e. locked door and not child friendly. Chemical waste needs to be reviewed hazard for children. Ropes in play area could be dangerous. Men's toilets could do with 2 toilets. More information on activities mentioned on website should be readily available i.e leaflets. |

Liked: The location was excellent with views over Chew Lake and Bristol. Located on the edge of a forest and within walking distance of Forestry Commission walks and Picnic site. Disliked: Quite a walk to nearest pub and uphill on way back. |

Friendly, safe and basic campsite and very reasonably prices! Caroline E. (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: friendly welcome from owners Disliked: what is there not to like! |

Liked: A lovely small site in a fabulous setting on a slightly sloping site. There are plenty of electric hook ups, but it was very quiet when we went so book early if you need one, as I can imagine they would be in short supply if the site gets busy. The toilet block is good, with two toilets and one shower for men and women, washing up facilities and plenty of hot water. An added ... Disliked: It is a bit of a walk to get to the nearest shop, which didn't seem to be open very often, but the shop in the next village is very well stocked and open until 7.30 - same again for pubs, which you need to drive to. |

Just a few words about this review if I could...
Site needs more work...As described in our write up we are a small, friendly, back to basics campsite for people to relax and enjoy the countryside. We do not claim or wish to be a large commercial site.
Apart from the children's play area activities on site are self made i.e. walking/playing in the woods, den making, collecting wood, ball games and running around in a traffic free environment.
The privacy in the showers we feel is adequate. There are separate male and female showers with doors on and a curtained changing area.
Chemical waste unit complies with regulations and is tucked away.
Only ropes in the play area are to attach the swing and boat swing to the top bar along with the pull ropes to make the boat swing work. It is a professional tp wooden frame. Our boys have been enjoying it for years.
We have one male w/c and one urinal. There are three w/c's and one urinal on site.
There are activities suggestions on our listing page, the idea being that activities can be researched and booked before arriving to save time and disappointment. However I will make sure for the future that i get hold of some information and put it along side the days out /things to do leaflets in the summer house.
Thank you. Nettwood Country Breaks.
