The show-stopping vistas at Broadway House Holiday Park will leave your spirits singing like a Theatreland crooner... With a dramatic viewpoint over the Cheddar valley, this well-maintained site is in the perfect spot for a spin around Somerset and the majestic Mendip Hills.

A heated outdoor pool, crazy golf, table tennis and a BMX track top the list of excellent facilities. There's also a restaurant and bar serving up homemade grub and bar snacks (with takeaway options) and weekend entertainment laid on during holiday season, plus a large shop for groceries, camping gear and beach stuff, a children’s playground, indoor arcade games, a laundry room, cash machine and payphone on site.

The pitches are pleasantly screened with traditional hedgerows, with electric hook-ups available. Family and disabled amenities are good; and while there are plenty of free showers, there’s also the option to reserve your own private bathroom for a small fee (ideal for those who like a good long soak...).

Nearby attractions and activities

No need to instruct your nearest and dearest to say "cheese" on a trip to Cheddar: the smorgasbord of tasty attractions on offer in and around this pretty village is sure to leave them smiling. There are gogglesome views both above and below ground in the spectacular Cheddar Gorge, where the limestone cliffs contain deep caves adorned with amazing rock formations, and the welter of family activities ranges from making sweets to open top bus tours.

Daredevils can try caving, climbing, potholing or windsurfing, or there are more leisurely options such as horse riding, fishing, sailing and golf; gourmets will enjoy the excellent selection of eateries and watering holes (and can see the nation's favourite cheese being made at the Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company); bird watchers can indulge in a spot of twitching at the Cheddar reservoir; and Longleat Safari and Adventure Park is also very close, for those prepared to brave the infamous monkeys...

For beach-based boisterousness, make for Weston-super-Mare or Burnham on Sea. Alternatively, you could check out the plethora of historical and cultural attractions in Bath and Bristol, not forgetting Wells, England's smallest city. On the outskirts of Wells, you’ll find Wookey Hole, home to more show caves, a paper mill and other attractions; venture a little further and you can easily reach Glastonbury, Bridgwater or North Devon delights such as Lynton and Lynmouth.

Liked: Well organised, easy to book in, (we arrived around 7:30 and all the staff had all the details to hand, so easy.
Pitches were large, although grass was a bit thin, but then it was the end of the season.
Well laid out, and plenty to do.

Liked: The campsite was very good and friendly. We had some very wet weather and the pitch got quite boggie. They provided us with boards so we could get out of the tent without sinking into the mud. The site was very full because it was over a bank holiday. It was quite load at night, but its got to be hard to keep everybody to the 10pm quite time when you have so many kids ...

Disliked: Toilets could be looked after a little more. Kids/teenagers made a mess through the night. Not pleasent to go in in the mornings. This was not every morning so it was the people that was staying not the sites fault.

Liked: Nice roomy pitches, considering we had a 7m x 4m tent and still had plenty of room to spare.
Entertainment complex was a very friendly and welcoming environment, and was positioned in such a place that you were not forced to walk through it as you are in some parks.
Nice clean swimming pool.
Bar prices were very reasonable for both food and drink.

Disliked: Although clean, swimming pool was very cold despite being heated.

Liked: The lovely views.
The amazing owners who were kind and helpful.
The playground for the kids is huge and full of different things to do.
The facilities on site.

Disliked: If you get to the shower block just after the early morning rush then they are freezing cold and you are best to wait a few hours before you can get hot water again.
The shop doesn't stock very much but thats not a big problem as there is a garage just down the road from the site with stocks a lot more.

Liked: Swimming Pool was free, Crazy golf £1, bmx track, skateboard park, adventure playground, showers all free, the children were entertained all week without coming and saying i'm bored. All staff we spoke to were very pleasant welcoming, friendly and could not help enough. Showers were always warm.
Location, cheddar gorge is a beautiful place to visit and weston super mare, plus loads more near by. Shop was well stocked with essentials. Would definatly drive ...

Disliked: The mud, pitches were very boggy after little rain due to there not being much grass.
Finding out they were not taking tourers/ campers in 2013 and many other campers were upset to hear this.

Liked: This campsite we have already recomended to our friends ,as we had a lovely friendly welcome. The little shop they have was great and the staff very helpful, even gave my partner a tin opener that had broken cos all he wanted was the bit to open his beer with. The bar manager Jim was a pleasure to be around and could not be more helpful. The shower blocks were spotless ..The pitch we had ...

Disliked: i have nothing to complain about at all

Liked: Plenty for the children to do. even teenage boys, playground was great and they have a bmx track and state park.

Disliked: Some pitches got flooded in heavy rain.
Pool was very busy and you have to book in for an hour slot.

Liked: What a fab few days had by all the family. On arrival our check-in was quick and easy, and pitch easy to find. We felt the site was safe for the children to come and go as they please (within reason!) also lots for them to do to tire themselves out....The swimming pool was fab although could have done with a little cleaning/hoovering as lots of leaves at the bottom but this is ...

Disliked: Nothing!

Liked: Sense of privacy with the hedged boundaries. Playground simply great - large, lots of climbing things. All made out of rope and wood and even a small trampoline and zip wire! Pool - outdoors. Have to book your hourly slot so nit always accessible. Good for all ages when in. (changing room and toilets badly need updating/ cleaning though.) cafe food ok as expected - everything with chips. Shop reasonably priced. Staff friendly and helpful despite being very ...

Disliked: Nothing really. Smell of the bins. Limited basic menu in cafe. Toilets and changing rooms in swimming pool - need updating...
