Sandford Holiday Park is an apt name for this park, which has acres of Britain’s best beaches on its doorstep. From its tranquil woodland setting, guests have easy access to the wide sands of Studland and Sandbanks, as well as lively resorts such as Bournemouth and Poole.
Activities galore mean that boredom is simply not an option. Wallowers can splish and splash in the indoor and outdoor pool complex, while toddlers get wet, wet, wet in the dedicated musical play pool; there are courts for tennis and many other sports; bikes and pedal go-karts are for hire; and nature trails crisscross the site. Still standing after all that energetic stuff? Then go swing’n’rolling at the bowling, or take the little monkeys around the jungle-themed crazy golf and reward the winner with an extra scoop at the site’s ice cream parlour.
While we’re on the subject of your progeny, there are no less than three different kids’ clubs, banded by age to make sure top fun is had by all (even the harder-to-please teens should be mildly interested by the film making and DJ workshops...plus the free wifi on site). Young’uns will also enjoy the indoor soft play zone and two outdoor play areas, which feature a pirate ship and a climbing wall as well as the usual playground paraphernalia.
Tummy batteries can be recharged at the fish and chip shop or the Arena restaurant, which serves Costa coffee as well as pizzas and lots of other family-friendly meals. Top it all off with a trip to the Limelite Club for family entertainment, cabaret and competitions from the sparkly Parkdean Troupers. You should sleep well after that lot!
Nearby attractions and activities
It’s a short hop in the car to begin discovering the area’s savage beauty, from the wilds of the New Forest to the ancient cliffs, limestone arches and nature reserves of the Jurassic Coast (tick off another World Heritage Site on your “must see” list).
Dorset is jammed with attractions to suit all interests. History buffs might fancy clambering around Northe Fort or scaling the ramparts at Corfe and Portland castles. The Adventure Wonderland family theme park offers thrills for children of all ages, plus a massive hedge maze to get lost in. Actionmen (and -women) can go paintballing or drive a tank at the Bovington Tank Museum.
There’s loads of fun for fauna fans, too: check out the chimps at Monkey World, swan about at Abbotsbury Swannery, visit Weymouth Sea Life Park, explore the largest salt water lagoon in the country on the glass-bottomed Fleet Observer, or meet some farmyard friends at Farmer Palmer’s Farm Park. Drive a bit further and you can also make a day trip to Longleat Safari Park.

When site is empty - would make sense to put visitors in best possible pitch rather than in the back of beyond! Cathrine D. (Mature couple, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: spacious pitches, friendly staff, nice restaurant and food, good pools and activities Disliked: our pitch - right in a corner under loads of trees so very dark and no working street light even though we reported this several times. The open pitches with hedges are much better and much brighter - also hundreds of mosquitoes!! |

Brilliant place to solo camp for a week..! Sinead D. (Solo traveller-female, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: The amazing scenery, and how diverse it was. You've got the sea, cliffs, rivers, streams, fields, hills, coastal walks, harbours, beaches, towns and the helpful network of bides and trains to help you explore the shores and mainland of Dorset! Disliked: Being a 25 minute bus ride away from Poole itself, and the only bus comes once every hour, so if you miss that one then your morning is ticking away as you wait to get going |

Not my type of site Ray B. (Extended family, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: The hard standing pitch was small but had it's own water supply. Had two small adventure play grounds for diffrent ages at the entertaiments area of the site shame it was so far away from the touring area. The staff at the welcome reception of the touring park were excellent. Disliked: All in all this is a very badly run overcrowded site. There is nowhere for children to play in the touring area. Many children played in a busy road, and parents were forever shouting at them. The pitches were very compact. Lots of adult arguments going on, babies crying and loud music. This is mainly due to the fact that the site has used every space possible and that leaves no room for people to ... |

Liked: facilities for rubbish and toilet/shower facilities very good Disliked: too big and second half is along way from reception/shops/entertainment facilities and seemed like an afterthought. |

Loved location spoiled by poor service in the restaurant. Enda R. (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: The location and it's proximity to visitor attractions. Disliked: The very poor service we received in the restaurant. We were going to have fish and chips but there was a problem with the fryer! it took an an hour and twenty minutes to be served our food from the time of ordering. When it did eventually arrive it was cold and was sent back, By this time it was quite late and we had it boxed to take back to our pitch. |
