Ideally situated for walkers, we have our own footpath to the village shop and pub (about 10 mins by foot) as well as numerous lovely walks in the area. Fantastic location & beautiful surroundings Tom J. (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: This was my first time camping and my husband, 3 /12 year old son and I visited Moonfleet over the Bank Holiday weekend. I was really impressed with the farm and the camp site. The welcome we received was fantastic. My little boy loved the tractor ride from the owner and the walk through the fields (which had sheep and lambs in) to the lovely local pub. Being a camping novice I was also really ... Disliked: Not the fault of the owners but nosy group of girls which did disturb me through the night. The etiquette rules did ask groups to move to the other side of the lake and it was a shame the girls didn't do this - but nevertheless it didn't spoil our trip. |

Fantastic Site mattreeve73 (With friends, 1 review, 0 photos)
Liked: We arrived at the site at 8pm without booking. The welcome was warm, friendly, and very informative. We stayed 2 nights and had a great time. Also had the place to ourselves which was nice. The wash/toilet facilities are beyond anything I've seen whilst camping. Will definitely be returning soon. Disliked: Absolutely nothing |

Peaceful Country Gem Nicole B. (Extended family, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: Clive and Linda were very friendly and helpful and welcoming. It was a very peaceful quiet pitch, there was one other party there when we arrived but they left after a couple of days so we had the campsite to ourselves. There is a very well stocked farm shop within a 15 minute walk of the site which we used everyday and there were two nearby pubs. The Fox Inn (in the same village) and ... Disliked: The campsite got a bit muddy when it rained - but this is a working farm so this is to be expected. |

Great site, great location, great owners! Alastair L. (Young couple, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: The owner, Clive and his wife Linda were very friendly and helped us onto our pitch with a dumper when our car didn't prove man enough! They made us feel like old friends rather than paying customers. Disliked: The weather!!! haha |

Feedback Avi Y. (Mature couple, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: Moonfleet Farm is one of the most user-friendly camping sites, well managed with friendly, helpful and charming owner, giving a cosy feel to the site. It is situated in a rural setting with fine panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and located within close proximity of the main Jurassic coast in Dorset. Pleasant walks through the fields and countryside, for the family, children and dogs. Disliked: Weather, rain and wind on last day!!! |

Great campsite, great location, great hosts. Warehamites (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos)
Liked: We were made to feel very welcome the moment we arrived by Clive and Linda. Nothing was too much trouble and any suggestions re how to improve this new site were gracefully accepted and acted upon immediately. Being able to have a fire was one of the main reasons we chose this site and really helped make the week. It was a lovely, secluded location but still close to the The Fox and the local ... Disliked: Our friends disliked the slugs but we're not holding it against Clive! |

We arrived just after the school holidays, and so had it (almost) to ourselves Andy B. (Young couple, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: The host, Clive, was friendly, helpful and informative. The site is a delight as we were encouraged to freely roam the farm area.. Disliked: The only drawback is that the pub, while open for all tourist trade morning to night, lacked atmosphere. Go there for your beer and food (which were up to scratch) then go back to your pitch for the atmos... |

Breathtakingly beautiful location and very a relaxed and well run site maryk (Mature couple, 1 review, 1 photo)
Liked: We stayed here for here for 3 nights in a very pretty Sheperd's Hut. It was cosy, very well equipped with a surprisingly large and comfortable double bed. Disliked: Nothing, loved everything about it. |

Liked: We liked everything! The farm is located in perfect surroundings and has everything to make a stay comfortable, and yet retain the feeling that you're getting away from it all. The fact that it is a working farm enhanced our stay and we are already contemplating our next visit. Great campfires with free wood and a friendly owner for whom nothing seemed too much trouble. Perfect! Disliked: Nothing. |

Beautiful spot - very friendly owner Elizabeth_P0 (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: View was great, the owner extremely friendly (and very understanding when we parked our VW camper a little off-piste). The loos & showers were very stylishly made out of shepherd huts .... sweet! Disliked: Some might find the pitches a little close to each other .... but we were very lucky. |

Excellent campsite, with friendly atmosphere!! Lindsay M. (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: Everything! We loved that we were able to have an open fire and BBQ (fire wood is also provided). Our pitch was a great size. There is access to a washing machine, fridge and freezer. The shower blocks/toilets were lovely (though only two) and come equipped with a hair dryer. There was easy access to drinking water. There is a local shop only a short walk away through some fields. The owners are very ... Disliked: The fact that we had to leave :-) |

Stayed for one night at Moonfleet Farm, Dorchester heidi b. (Young couple, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: Very quiet and peaceful campsite with lovely views. Loved listening to the birds. We only stayed for one night but wished we could have stayed for longer. We will be back to stay for longer the next time. We also had a great meal (and few drinks..) at the Fox pub which was just a short walk away. Disliked: . |

Liked: A well-thought out site with the right mixture of modern facilities: clean, tidy loos and showers with loads of hot water, electric hook-up and laundry facilities; whilst maintaining the 'away from it all' feel we wanted from a camping holiday - no organised activities etc etc. Disliked: Nothing really! I wonder if the loo/shower block will be adequate if all pitches are taken but this is a new site and I suspect plans will already be afoot for further developments once news gets out about this gem. |

A lovely, family site sparkster71 (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos)
Liked: The site, location, and the charming owners. Nothing was too much trouble, and regular visits from the owners were made to check on everything. The toilets/showers were extremely clean, with lots of hot water and the site was just perfect for our family. There's a lovely pub called the Fox Inn within a 10 minute walk which served very good basket meals and real ale. We will certainly be rebooking for a visit ... Disliked: nothing |

Lovely site in the country! Hayley D. (Mature couple, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: The opportunity to light a real fire and use our own BBQ. Disliked: The steps to the toilet/shower facilities. Be careful when wet/dew on steps on the left. I would suggest a handrail on either side of the steps would help and ensure complete safety for those using the facilities.
From the manager...
We were really sorry to hear that one of our guests slipped on the shower room steps and are looking into non-slip mats and hand rails. |

What a find! Great little site. Malanddave (Mature couple, 1 review, 0 photos)
Liked: A lovely site in a beautiful part of Dorset - off the tourist trail but not far from Dorchester. The large, landscaped pitches are located down the edge of a big field, so everyone has loads of space and lovely views. The site has not been over-groomed, so you feel you are camping wild. Ancient pastureland with loads of wildlife. There are two modern bathrooms with large showers. The owners are helpful and friendly. You pay ... Disliked: We did not dislike anything. But if you don't like dogs you might object to the way the owner's dogs come looking for food. We use a small mountain tent and cook outside, so we had to remember not to leave food unattended. |

Sorry you found the Fox soul-less - may be due to the time of day you went in. Most of the locals are friendly and welcoming. We are in a small village, however, and can't guarantee entertainment!
'Embarassing' is probably a more appropriate word than 'weird' re. the toilet incident ( for both parties concerned). We ask that the doors are pinned back to allow ventilation and to indicate whether anyone is using the facilities. Unfortunately, not everyone reads the notice and we do need to come in and clean. The door is lockable...........
