See all facilities…Campers looking for a place with bountiful buzz and within walking distance of the beach should definitely cast their eye around the well-equipped Woolacombe Bay Holiday Village.
With a view of emerald cliffs and golden sands, the amenities for tent dwellers are excellent, and the pitch price covers entry to the indoor and outdoor pools and water slides, plus access to all the sports on site (tennis, pitch and putt, crazy golf and more) and across the other Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks nearby.
Junior campers will love the free kids’ clubs (Billy and Betty Beachball for the tots, and ‘Extreme Teen’ action for older children), as well as the thrills of the bungee run, seadoos and climbing wall. Any adults who need unfrazzling can simmer down in the sauna, steam room and spa bath at the site’s Romano Spa, which also offers a respectable range of beauty treatments.
There’s a lively programme of evening entertainment too, including discos, bingo, talent shows, quizzes and glittering cabaret and stage shows from the resident ParkStars.

Nearby attractions and activities
There are no jet skis or powerboats allowed in Woolacombe Bay, which means its great for surfing (including the wind- and kite- varieties), swimming, sailing and sea kayaking.
Visitors can catch a boat along the coast to watch seals, dolphins and basking sharks, or sail the clear seas aboard the MS Oldenburg to the small granite outcrop of Lundy Island, home to puffins, razorbills and many other plants and animals (rummage in the rock pools or take a snorkel safari with the warden).
Nearby Barnstaple will tempt gourmets with its speciality food shops, lively markets and top notch restaurants; and the pretty Victorian resort of Ilfracombe has lots to offer too, including hand-carved tunnels to sheltered beaches and tidal pools, a chocolate museum and an aquarium.

Liked: The non electric pitches had plenty of space even for our big tent. The showers and toilets were very clean when we used then. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Lots for the kids to do. The shop prices were very reasonable in comparison to some I've been to and well stocked. Disliked: The pitch was very lumpy with stones, we had to kick a lot away before we could pitch. There are a lot of crows in the trees and my car and tent both had quiet a lot of mess on it. It's a bit of a trek up hill to the loos especially at night. The water was cold at one point in the showers. And not many water taps. Only 3 out of ... |

Plenty to do! amyheather1 (Young couple, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: Water flumes and heated pools were great and we are coming back again soon with the kids as they will love it! The showers each have their own mini bathroom with a sink and chair, so getting changed was easy and clothes didn't end up wet. Small steam room and sauna available free also which was lovely. Disliked: Bar and restaurant prices are way too high. The showers also go hot and cold.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're sorry you found the bar prices to be high, we do check these against local bars/restaurants including those which do not offer entertainment and against other holiday parks and we do compare very favourably. We hope to see you again at Woolacombe Bay again. Sarah Weekes - General Manager. |

A LONG DRIVE OF THE M5 linda b. (With friends, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: site was good overall, very hilly, entertainment good.shower block excellent Disliked: weather was very bad,so much rain and wind. Not that much in the town,Bus from the site is £8 for the week, think you should be able to buy a day pass.
From the manager...
We're sorry to read that the weather wasn't great for your stay, it's been a bit of a wash out this year unfortunately. We were really pleased with your comments and it looked like you enjoyed your stay a lot. To clarify, the bus pass is £8 for a week for everyone in your party (up to 8 people) so we think that £1.15 per day for everyone on your booking is pretty good value, even if you only use it once. We hope to see you again at Woolacombe Bay, Sarah Weekes - General Manager. |

Directions
From Junction 27 of the M5 take the third exit on the left hand and follow the signs for the A361 to Barnstaple approximately 34 miles away. The views from this road are amazing, as there are hills and trees as far as the eye can see, with the odd scatter of houses dotted around the rural landscape. Be aware of speed cameras on these open stretches of roads.
Approximately 10 and a half miles from J27 you will come to Stoodleigh Cross where for about 10 miles onwards on the left, stags are often seen. Continue along this road until you arrive at the South Molton roundabout housing "The Northgate Inn".
At this point there is a choice of routes. If it is not a busy time it is easier to drive through Barnstaple by going straight over this roundabout and continuing along the link road. However if it is busy and you don't want to get stuck in traffic then turn right at this roundabout and follow the A399 to Combe Martin.
Please note that this route is not suitable for touring caravans.
If you choose the A399
Turn right at South Molton roundabout and carry along this road, this tends to become very bendy so beware of slow moving tractors. You will come to The Old Station Inn at Blackmoor Gate, continue straight past and follow the road. Approximately 39 miles from the M5 you will see the Bristol Channel at Combe Martin Bay. Along this road you will come across the turn off to your left, sign posted Woolacombe on the B3343. Follow this road for 4 miles until you reach a junction known as Berry Down Cross, Turn left here. Beware of the sharp bend but follow it around to the right. Continue until you reach the petrol station situated at Lynton Cross Junction.
Travel straight across the junction and follow the road till approximately 47 miles from the M5 you will reach Mullacott Cross Roundabout. Proceed straight across and follow the signs for Woolacombe.
If you choose the A361 towards Barnstaple
Follow the link road for about 30 minutes until you see the town of Barnstaple in front of you. Turn left at the 1st roundabout towards Bideford (as it will be faster than travelling through the town centre) and proceed along the A361 and turn right at the 2nd roundabout signposted A361 Ilfracombe. After a mile or so continue straight through the 2 sets of traffic lights on the roundabout and over the Taw Bridge, turn left when you reach the dual carriage way following the A361 through the villages of Braunton and Knowle until you reach Mullacott Cross Roundabout.
At the roundabout take the first exit which is the B3343 to Woolacombe, after 2 miles you will come to a Y junction.
For Woolacombe Bay Holiday Village, take the right turn at the Y junction for Mortehoe. Woolacombe Bay is approximately one mile along this road on the left.

Thank you for your review and we are glad that overall you enjoyed your stay. We are sorry to read that the wash block cleaning was not up to our usual high standards when you visited; we are unable to explain why but have reinforced the importance of this with our Housekeeping team.
During the Summer School Holidays in 2012 we did have a special offer on pitches without electrical hook-up offering a discount off the electric pitch price. At other times of the year the non-electric pitches did not typically fully book so those guests who booked earliest were able to benefit from the free electrical hook ups. From 2013 we have now changed our pricing to have a distinct price for Basic (without EHU) and Electric pitches to help those looking for the best value.
We hope to see you again soon!
