Ever wondered what happened to tartan-clad 70s pop sensations the Bay City Rollers? Rumour has it that this is where they hung up their skates to carve out a new career as agriculturalists... These days, the screams of adulation come when visitors realise it’s only a 50m stagger to the pub, a traditional inn which serves food, too.
The well-kept, level, grassy pitches at Bay View Farmers have great views of the coast and the pretty Devon scenery that surrounds this small, friendly site. Key amenities for ablutions are available, and, for the best of both worlds, guests also get to use the facilities at the larger Europa site next door: a swimming pool and sauna, bar, restaurant, games room and laundrette.
Nearby attractions and activities
The site enjoys direct access to the Tarka Trail, ideal for cyclists and walkers who want to explore the Devon countryside, with over a hundred miles of pathways covering diverse types of terrain.
It’s a two-minute drive to the sweeping sands of Woolacombe, where the park owners have struck a deal with a local adventure sports company to give visitors access to coasteering, climbing, abseiling, orienteering, high ropes, mountain biking and kayaking.
Woolacombe also has a number of restaurants (the Boardwalk and the Electric come recommended) and it’s not far to Ilfracombe, either. For a more lively night out, try the restaurants, pubs and clubs of Barnstaple: the owners will give you tips on the top places to try, and the cheapest taxis to get home.
The kids will go baa-my over the eccentric excitement of the Big Sheep, and the thrills of the Milky Way adventure park will send them into orbit. For more family fun, try Exmoor Zoo or Combe Martin Dinosaur Park, both a short distance from Woolacombe.

A good site with pub nearby Tanya S. (Family with older children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: The field layout and Maze maze Disliked: Showers not cleaned twice a day especially with the rainy weather more like a mud shower than a shower block.. A shame because the camp was ideally situated and a great pub in walking distance |

Liked: That the weekend we picked the campsite was almost empty, everyone was heading home to get the kids back to school for the week. Disliked: When we turned up our booking was not ready and the campsite didn't know anything about our booking it took three of them to find it on the computer. we where a bit worried at first that we had driven 3 hours and we had no where to stay, but they just sorted it out, Staff did not really know how to handle it, we where very patient with them and showed them all ... |

Not much to talk about positively Catherine_B (Young couple, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: The only positive thing was the local pub where we were made to feel very welcome by the owner on a very busy bank holiday weekend. Disliked: Its on a hill with no cover around so expect wind. The toilet facilities were covered in dirt with a load of cleaning products in the corner? Not sure if they expected us to clean them!? It's not clearly signed at all that you are expected to go to a completely different campsite called Europa (which was awful - I would've refused to stay there) to check in and get the code for bathroom ... |

Liked: EVERYTHING Disliked: you can not review this site bad when weather conditions can not be helped by bay view farmers, we stayed for 5 nights with high winds and heavy rain, this is not the sites fault. the showers were clean considering the mud on site due to the rain. If you just need a basic site this is for you, ill will come back year after year! you can have a shower, go to the toilet ... |

very disappointing Helen M. (Solo traveller-female, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: sadly very little. Disliked: Other campers were very noisy until at least 2:30am, with engines on, music loud and drunken antics. I had booked for 2 nights, but only stayed 1. A real shame, especially as there were kids on site. As there weren't wardens there was no control. |

overall not bad shame about the weather! claire j. (Family with older children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: Nice large pitches, hot showers, and you could see the sea (only from the shower block) Disliked: Pitch was quite far from the shower/toilet block so was a bit annoying in the wind the rain, and mud. |
Facebook Twitter Google Plus |
Liked: Hard to find what i liked, so sorry but cant find anything good to say. Oh yes, hot running water and free. Pitchup is a great site, not there fault. Disliked: Site was full of dog mess, other people had only paid for minimum occupants to get cheaper holiday, total dishonesty ie: said 2 adults 1 child, infact 4 adults 3 kids etc, i even paid £28 for 2 dogs, as i am honest. Unmanned site, shower floor permanantly wet/dirty, its true to say the weather was torrential rain and gale force winds, no protection from the elements whatsoever, every morning for a week min ... |

Liked: Contrary to other reviews we found the campsite straight away. The pitches were flat and the toilets/showers as clean as could be next to a muddy field, although a bit more time could have been spent. Disliked: The checking in process was a pain as you have to go a mile down the road to "check in". |

WOULDN'T STAY AGAIN charlene a. (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: There was nothing really to like about this campsite, but the pub across the road from it was really nice. Disliked: This site is very very basic,it's just a field, with a shower and toilet block, the showers were often cold and dirty. |

Liked: The field was good, and the utility block was clean and simple.......no airs and graces, just lovely. Disliked: could do with a couple more hooks for towels, clothes, washbag etc,. in the showers |

Enjoyed stay and was good price would go there again. Karen P. (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: The location and that you could use the facilities on the other site, although pool is small. It was a safe environment for the children, it was dog friendly and friendliness of other camp users. Although unmanned site there was still contact from site staff who was very pleasant and helpful. shower/toilet block was cleaned daily, but difficult to keep clean when there is a lot of rain. Would stay there again and would ... Disliked: Shower block can get mucky when you have a lot of rain would advise flip-flops to shower in. |

We were disappointed with the site. Toilets and showers were filthy. ceri f. (Young couple, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: the flat fields for camping. Disliked: The toilets and showers - they were covered in mud so much so that I actually felt dirtier coming out the showers than I did going in. Not a cm of the floor was clean, they were the dirtiest showers and toilets I have ever come across. |

Clean & tidy site - good location clare (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos)
Liked: We had a very nice stay at Bay View Farmers, despite dismantling our tent in the rain. Good location just outside Woolacombe, short drive to Ilfracombe. Clean hot showers. Basic small site, but facilities at Europa F.O.C. ie pool & entertainment, so could'nt complain, would use again and will recomend. Quick easy check in at Europa. Disliked: Not a very clear sign for the site from the road and so we drove through Mortehoe village & out on to the small costal road through Woolacombe and back out before spotting the site, the site is actually on the same road which leads down to Woolacome Bay, so if you don't turn off to Mortehoe but stay on this road the site is on the right hand side of a bend as you ... |
