Set in the Wray Valley, surrounded by rambling moorland, with a gentle stream running through it; a secluded, peaceful setting for your camping holiday.
We are slightly different to your average campsite as we have a prestigious building with high quality facilities including fully equipped gym, tennis courts, sports field, skate park, bowling green, play area, function rooms and much more.
The campsite is a flat grassy field with good shelter all around. It is a safe environment for children and a short distance from all the activities you could need to keep you entertained.
We believe that all our extra facilities can create the perfect holiday for the whole family to enjoy.
Nearby attractions and activities
We are situated a short distance from the village of Moretonhampstead, where you will find plenty to see and do!
Open through the summer months is a large outdoor swimming pool with plenty of sun-bathing space. Just next door to us is a fishery that's open all year round, with three lakes filled with trout. New to the village is the Sparrowhawk Heritage site and Art Gallery, where you can check out local artwork and learn more about the history of the area. There are also plenty of picturesque walks, as well as cycle trails to take you even further, where you'll find spectacular views of the valley and surrounding Dartmoor National Park.
Moretonhampstead boasts a range of great restaurants, tearooms, pubs and shops, including an award-winning butcher/deli and a Michelin guide recommended restaurant. There is also a take-away if you fancy staying in! There is also a friendly information centre, post office, bank and convenience store.
A little further out of town, with a regular bus service, you could venture out to the Miniature Pony Centre - "A truly captivating family attraction in Devon, with miniature ponies and much much more"; children get a chance to feed, ride and interact with many different animals.
Or if you prefer a more relaxing day out, The Luxury Spa Hotel and Sporting Estate "Bovey Castle" is a short bus ride or drive away. Non-residents are welcome to use the leisure and spa facilities or book a round of golf.
