  • Back to basics family- and pet-friendly site just off the A3072
  • A 15-minute drive from the surfing beaches and shops of Bude
  • Farm animals; craft class and dog grooming subject to availability
If you're seeking a Devon family getaway with easy access to Cornwall too, then Noteworthy Farm is in a fab location, about 10 minutes' drive away from Holsworthy and 15 minutes from Bude's beaches and sea pool. Running alongside the A3072, the site has good road access and is easy to find. The site falls within Devon’s Ruby Country (named for the area’s distinctive Ruby cattle), and it's got rural views all around. When you’re ready to venture out for strolls with sea views, get in the car and travel the seven miles to Bude to join the South West Coast Path, trekking the 10 miles to Crackington Haven or, in the other direction, the 15 to Hartland Quay. If you decide not to venture off from Noteworthy Farm during your stay, you have the chance to visit farm animals such as Angora goats, miniature horses, ducks and chickens. There is also an outdoor children's play area, as well as a wildlife pond where fishing is possible. On occasion, there will be craft workshops where guests can book to learn how to spin yarn, needle felt or have a go at continuous weaving (all at an extra cost and by prior arrangement). Pooch in need of a pamper after a long day of walking? There is a dog groomer on site, subject to availability and charged separately. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, head into Holsworthy to the local pubs or towards the coast for some local cuisine, or set that barbecue smouldering to eat outdoors. There are picnic benches at the pitches to give you somewhere comfy to serve up your meals.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: Host was extremely helpful. The location was great for quick 15 min drive to Bude and was very quiet. It is a reasonably small site with a friendly feel. Good cafe on site too.

Disliked: Showers were too small to comfortably get changed in..

Liked: We stayed for one night as sightseeing around Devon and Cornwall. Hard standing big and spacious with picnic benches. Lovely little site with a play area for Children. Showers were nice and hot, added bonus of a launderette if needed on your travels. The Goats and Sheep had just had Kids/Lambs so we were able to have a cuddle in the morning before we set off. Owners were Lovely we really enjoyed our stay.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Noteworthy farm is an absolutely fantastic campsite that we will unequivocally visit again. If I could give everything more than 5 stars I would. Lovely spacious pitches and everyone is thoughtfully spaced out according to their needs. The showers are HOT and have fantastic pressure. Anyone who is an avid camper know that this is a MUST. All bathroom facilities are immaculate. In the pot wash area the water is also hot, with a freezer to freeze all your ice packs. To top this all off the lady who runs this place is incredibly lovely. You see her running around the place with animals, guests and everything else but still has time for a friendly hello and conversation.

Local attractions

The seaside resort town of Bude should be your first stop during your hols. As well as being a top surfing destination, it’s got plenty for those more comfortable on dry land: straddle the divide with some beach days, wander over to the castle, or meander along the Bude canal towpaths. Sticking to the coast, the stunning village of Clovelly (half an hour away) is an absolute must: it’s privately owned, car-free and practically begging to be photographed, so make haste with camera in hand. Treat the kids to stops at the nearby Milky Way or Big Sheep family amusement parks, then drag them to experience some vintage vibes with a day among the merry go rounds, dodgems and traditional games at Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre, half an hour from the site. If you want to get some clean country air into those lungs, you’re 45 minutes from the edge of Dartmoor National Park and RHS Garden Rosemoor is within half an hour. A little further afield, try the Eden Project (an hour away) and the Lost Gardens of Heligan (an hour and 20 minutes).
