Things we loved-nice tidy site, electrical hookup, showers & toilets, ample freezer facilities, family room (with a superb table tennis table), microwave oven and most importantly of all...the friendliness of the proprietors.
Superb meals to be had at the local pub (The New Inn) and the Goonhavern Garden Centre do really good breakfasts. We brought back most of the tinned food we took down with us from Newcastle as the local Londis was well stocked.
We are not "dog lovers" per se but we found the ones also staying there to be relatively well behaved with just some minor yapping in the morning.
All in all a really good and well maintained site which helped to make a memorable Cornish holiday-we wished we could have stayed for a second week!
Looking forward to going there again next year

    Disliked:

We had a couple of minor niggles-slight slope on our pitch, main road can get a bit noisy more or less all through a weekday night this may be due to traffic diversions due to roadworks further down the road.

The owners of the site are fabulous, my fiance and I went to Boardmasters for the day and when we quizzed them in the best forms of travel and parking they knew it all. Amazingly helpful people. The site had good amenities and it was situates very close to Goonhaven and only a short walk to Perranporth. I have spoken to the ownserver explaining that we will be back because I think that when it ones to camping, Sunny Meadows has what we needed out of a site for our Cornish holiday.

    Disliked:

The area to play pool in could have done with a lick of paint and same for the table tennis room with some new chairs too and maybe just a light music played in there via either a radio or wall mounted duke box.

Quiet and very well layed out. Staff member friendly and welcoming. A little further away from the real touristy areas which to me was a bonus but maybe not to for others as would be a drive to get to any real “action”. Price reflects this however and cannot be faulted. Shower facilities were hot and clean!

    Disliked:

Very little to dislike. If I had to split hairs the shower cubical was a little small and only two showers so could mean queues especially for the ladies. Definitely didn’t find it an issue. WiFi only available in small area but who comes camping for WiFi?!

Local attractions

Between Sunny Meadows and Perranporth is a challenging 18-hole link golf course; within easy reach is a riding school at Reen Manor to take visitors around the lanes and, if they're competent riders, on to Perranporth.

The beach, three miles long with Atlantic surf, is a popular spot for all ages.

Perranporth has the usual restaurants, cafés and gift shops, chemist, doctor's surgery and dentist, together with a bank and filling stations.

Although buses pass the entrance of the site, Perranporth has routes going to other destinations than Newquay and Truro. The site is conveniently set for exploring Cornwall and Devon too: St Austell is 25 miles away, Land's End 30, Launceston 45 and Plymouth 50.

As it's just 20 miles from coast to coast (Perranporth to Falmouth), you can contrast the surf of the Atlantic ocean with the calmer waters of the English Channel. Bodmin Moor is half an hour away.

Must see

  • Lappa Valley Steam Railway (3.6 miles)
  • Newquay Zoo (5.1 miles)
  • Blue Reef Aquarium (5.1 miles)

National Trust

  • Trerice (4.5 miles)
  • Trelissick Garden (9.6 miles)
