Trewan Hall Camping Site

From £12 (for 1 night, 2 adults)   Why not enter some details and get an accurate price?

Trewan is a unique family-run campsite in mid Cornwall between Newquay and Padstow. Here at Trewan we try to conserve the essence of a Cornish estate by enhancing the natural beauty of woodlands, gardens and traditional building methods.

Trewan Hall Camping Site comprises 36 acres of woods and grounds surrounding the old stone mansion of Trewan Hall. Situated in the English county of Cornwall, Trewan is six miles east of Newquay and a short walk from the Cornish town of St Columb Major.

The camping grounds and amenities are perfectly integrated into the estate and are designed to blend into their surroundings rather then detract from them. There is a choice of two fields each with a unique ‘feel’. One smaller family orientated field close to the shop, barns and play park plus a larger field with plenty of space with an 'away from it all' atmosphere.

Pitches are not allocated, giving you, the guest, the choice you wish. We are in an advantageous position in that we have far more space then available pitches. This means more room, more choice and the view or convenience you want. We also control the maximum numbers of campers carefully so as not to over-stretch facilities.

New for 2013 - A new toilet block will be ready for the season 2013. This will comprise of ladies/gents toilets and shower rooms with each having private wash rooms within. Also available will be: hair dryer, disabled/family bathroom, family shower room, drying facilities, washing up area, wet suite shower and baby changing facilities.

Liked: Friendly owners, Well drained site, Electrical hook-ups, Very clean toilet and shower block, Good recycling facility. Good location for Newquay, Boscastle, St Isaac and Eden Project.
Note: It is close to Newquay Airport. Not an issue for me, but worth a consideration for some. (Although its a fairly quiet Airport)

Disliked: Lack of mirror to assist when exiting the site onto busy country lane.

Liked: Originally I was booked in for 4 nights and then I was going to move onto a booked hotel for our last night in Cornwall. Due to the enjoyable time we had here I cancelled the hotel and stayed a further 2 days. I found that the staff were helpful, excellent facilitates and activities were offered. The site is in an excellent position to be able to visit different areas within Cornwall, being near to ...

Liked: The field furthest from the reception was brilliant, pretty quiet, not at all crowded with brilliant facilities. We camped around the edge of the field as it was electric hook-ups in the middle. It felt really private with no invasion from other campers and this was August Bank Holiday! They cater mainly for families and if you had children I think it would be a BRILLIANT place to stay for them, with lots and lots ...

Disliked: I don't have a bad word to say about it.

Liked: Pretty much everything - from the warm and welcoming reception we received on our arrival, the facilities available - as well as the usual camp site standards (shop, showers, laundry room etc etc), our children additionally enjoyed the table tennis room, games room and the swimming pool with the spring board which was a great bonus when the weather was bad! The campsite setting is lovely set amongst the beautiful grounds of Trewan Hall, the cleanliness and ...

Disliked: The weather for our first week - but theres not very much that can be done about that!

Liked: The staff, young and not so young are just wonderful, nothing is too much trouble and go above and beyond the call of duty. The entertainment is brilliant and varied. The best camp shop, good laundry facilities. The showers are due to be upgraded, but still adequate at the moment. Calm surroundings and peaceful site with every one respectful of others.
All our children love it, ages 3,4,12,15 and already booked for ...

Disliked: Nothing, even the appalling weather couldn't spoil our holiday at Trewan Hall.

Liked: What a fantastic find! We absolutely loved this place.

In the grounds of a beautiful hall with lovely stone buildings dotted around, and the absolute bonus of an outdoor heated pool which is covered in bad weather.

Professionally run and well cared for by a friendly team.

The kids (5,6 & 8 years) disappeared to the play area on day 1 and immediately made dozens of friends. They'd have happily stayed here all day ...

Disliked: Nothing.

The ability to have a campfire would make it extra-special, but the facilities, location and friendliness more than made up for it.

Liked: I went here as a child and it is still an excellent campsite. Fantastic atmosphere, great entertainment in evenings in the small barn theatre. Plays, Olympics on big screen , local brass band, rock band.

There are two fields, one with electricity and one without.

Great swimming pool, costs 50p per visit with roof if bad weather. Good playground.

A great spot but only go there if you like traditional camping. There is noise at night ...

Disliked: The gales and rain.

Liked: I loved the site, beautiful stunning location, the house is wonderful and facilities are excellent. The swimming pool and games rooms are ideal for young families, and even plenty to do when the weather is bad.
