Meadow - tick. Lakes - tick. But there’s much more behind the name: the general gorgeousness of said meadows and lakes, for a start, and the fact that guests can fish the teeming waters at zero charge. There are four coarse fishing lakes to choose from at Meadow Lakes, stocked with everything from carp to eels - just pick up a permit from reception before you get going, and make sure there’s an adult with any under 16s.
Then there are the friendly donkeys and goats waiting to greet you; the lovely outdoor heated pool, open from late May to early September, with a separate splash pool for little ones; and the children’s entertainment that’s laid on in high season. And that’s before getting started on the rest of the facilities: indoor and outdoor play areas, a dedicated area for dog walking, wifi, takeaway food (in peak season), shop, laundrette...
Nearby attractions and activities
Off site, there’s no shortage of things to do, either: within a 15-mile radius are several golf courses, some lovely beaches, and attractive Cornish towns and villages to explore; plus animal parks, an aquarium, museums, Caerhayes Castle, and a couple of Cornwall’s most famous tourist attractions, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project.

Liked: The facilities were good. With hot water, clean toilets. Food stall had lovely food and great portions. Site was well located and pitches good size. Pool was warm and clean changing rooms. Shop was well stocked and reasonably priced. Disliked: The pitch water logged as soon as it rained. The toilets were far from the field. Kids barn could do with few more games for older kids. staff could try to acts little more helpfully but appreciate they had few off sick so they were short staffed and doing these best on a busy week. |

a fantastic holiday anonyamous (Solo traveller-female, 1 review, 0 photos)
Liked: 1) friendly and helpful staff: went on a hike on a windy and rainly day, came back to find that my tent had been pitched better and more securely despite the strong wind Disliked: 1) expensive laundary facilities: the £1.50 tumble dryer doesn't dry your clothes (£1.50 gives you 20 mins); costs £3.00 to use the washing machine (although the drums are quite big - disproportionately big compare to that of the tumble dryer) |

a fantastic stay K W L. (Solo traveller-female, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: 1) friendly and helpful staff: I went for a hike on a windy and rainy day, came back to my tent to find that one of the staff had repitched my tent to make sure that it was pitched more securely! Disliked: 1) laundary facilities are quite expensive: £3 for a wash (although they are quite large drums, but then who would have so much to wash for a short holiday?) the £1.50 tumble dryer doesn't fully dry your clothes - in other words, the size of the drums of the washing machine and the tumble dryer are hugely disproportionate |

WASP INFESTATION RUINED HOLIDAY chris m. (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: the heated out door pool and the park kept the kids entertained. Disliked: The HUGE WASP PROBLEM!! We really couldn't relax at all during the day until the sun went down and we will definitely not be returning because of this. They were EVERYWHERE and the kids got stung. It really did ruin our holiday so much and this park would benefit from sorting the wasp infestation out big time!!! |

This is a nice site claire w. (Family with older children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: plenty of space on each pitch, good clean toilets and showers, warm outside swimming pool. This is a big site but you would never know it, its not far from St Austell where you will find lots of shops and take aways. there is a small take away on site. Had a fab week here and the small lakes are nice to walk round. I will go back next time im down that way. Disliked: A lot of the pitches are slopping so if you need it to be level for a tent then you need to let them know when you book. |

We keep coming back! cmb1960 (Family with older children, 1 review, 0 photos)
Liked: The openness, friendly staff, clean facilities, location within easy reach of plenty of beaches and other places of interest. We're due back next week and there are new owners since last year so we'll see how it's changed! Fishing lakes are a bonus if the weather is dull too. Disliked: The prices - a bit high given the facilities - but to be fair we still come back every year. Electrics needed upgrading (a bit unreliable at times) so hope the new owners have attended to that now. |
