family run camp site

(Family with older children, 1 review, 0 photos)   Confirmed ?

  • Stayed May 2013 Review submitted
  • Stayed in: Touring pitches

Liked: Spacious pitches. Water tap and bin at pitch. Owner empties bins daily. Grass kept short and cuttings collected so no grass every where. Friendly and helpful owners with relaxed old fashioed attitude to camping. Sheltered at edge by trees. Very clean facilities. not over crowded. Plenty of space for children to play. Value for money. Strongly reccommend. Only two suggestions: microwave in kitchen and small park/climbing frame. Our type of camping.

Site is one of the best

(Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos)

  • Stayed Jun 2012 Review submitted
  • Stayed in: Touring pitches

Liked: Stayed with two children and two grandparents during the storms that battered the West coast in June. Packed up early as it would have been lunacy to stay any longer. After a year camping over the UK away from our normal sites Court Farm ranks as the best. Although it's a bit out of our way we have every intention to book back here again next year.

Friendly welcome and forgiving staff (I forgot ...

Disliked: Price should be for pitch and not size of tent
Pitch was not level at the point we were rolling up blankets to level up the airbeds

Fair - but not much consideration for guests with no private transport.

(Solo traveller-female, 1 review, 0 photos)   Confirmed ?

Liked: Lovely location; spacious fields. Well equipped observatory, excellent washing/toilet facilities.

Disliked: Little consideration for travellers who don't have their own car. No directions for coming by public transport. Perhaps bus timetables could be displayed at site? Perhaps also a kettle could be left in the kitchen area - campers who don't have their own transport and have to carry everything on their back, often don't have room for a camping stove.

Showers turn off after about 7 seconds.

A very good campsite.

Liked: Bill and Simon, they were very friendly and helpful.
The view from our pitch.
The cleanliness of the loos and size of the showers.
The information; fridges; freezer; washing machine and super-efficient dryer.
The short walk into the village.

Disliked: We were not unhappy with our stay, just unlucky with the distance from shower block and the collie, from the neighbouring farm(?) that liked to patrol the field and peed right on the zip-tab of our tent - ew!
Although we were in a quiet spot the lane behind us was surprisingly noisy and there was occasional noise from wind tubine opposite, we were ok with ear plugs though.

Directions

Get directions

Exeter: get on to A30. Keep on A30 all the way until you see the exit sign for 'Indian Queens', wake up – it’s the next exit – signed 'Fraddon & Grampound Road' (there is a McDonalds at the exit).

Take the right option to “Grampound Road”. At the next cross roads, turn left to (St Stephen), St Austell.

Keep on same road, pass through the village of St Stephen (pink road at the crossroads), down and past the Peugeot garage. Slow….

On your right, on the bend, is a wide turning signed St Stephen Coombe, Hay Langerth and Industrial site. Turn up there. 400 yards up there you will see white cottages on your left: slow down!

Court Farm entrance is on your right, opposite the white cottages. You won’t see it until you are upon it - so be slow!

Turn down into the drive – follow 'all traffic this way' sign. Park in the campsite and come to the reception. Please ring when you exit the A30 using the number in your confirmation email.

Look forward to seeing you. Simon, Lisa, Bill and Ann
