General

  • Quiet rural site near the village of Bugle, six miles from the coast
  • 3 miles from the Eden Project; 10 miles from Lost Gardens of Heligan
  • Close to the Clay Trails network of walking and cycle paths

Canna Farm is a quiet rural site near the Cornish village of Bugle, six miles from the south coast. The village has a shop, pub, takeaway and fish and chip shop, and there are couple of other country pubs within two miles that are worth a stop for drinks and eats.

You're well placed here for visiting lots of Cornwall's most popular attractions – within 10 miles you've got the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the harbour at Charlestown and several lovely beaches.

If you'd like to leave the car at home, it's easy to travel around by public transport as there's a station just over a mile away in Bugle. You've also got some great cycle/walking paths nearby in the form of the Clay Trails, which link several of the area's towns, villages and attractions. It's a three-mile walk from the site to the Eden Project and five miles to St Austell, where you can refresh yourself at the town's brewery.

Back at Canna Farm you can spend the evening with a traditional campsite activity as you gather with friends and family around the communal firepit.

Other amenities on site include a washing-up area and toilet block with composting toilets.

This camp site is nestled away in the Cornish countryside and it's charm is it's simplicity. The owners are very relaxed, dogs are welcome and fire pits provided for camp fires. There is one composting toilet and currently no shower facility. Their information booklet says they hope to add this next year and I hope it is in the same vein as the loo, keeping things basic and simple. Drinking water is bought up each day from the owner. With basic needs met you can enjoy the peace and quiet from being far enough away from main roads and on clear nights as we enjoyed, see a sky full of stars.
