You’ll get flapping brilliant views from your tent at this site, where the pitches look out over the 275-acre Stithians Lake.
There’s loads of space around the site for family games and picnics, as well as a pirate-themed children’s playground, walking trails around the lake and a bird hide for confirmed and wannabe twitchers.
The range of activities on offer at Stithians Lake Campsite makes the site ideal for groups. The limpid waters offer excellent sport for fly fishermen, who can cast from boat or bank for sizeable brown and rainbow trout (rod licences required for the over 12s). Pedal-driven recreationalists can cycle along the surfaced route to the dam.
Visitors can try out a wide range of watersports with the help of the jovial, qualified instructors at the Outdoor+Active centre. Windsurfing, sailing, rowing, kayaking and walk-on-water balls are all on offer, and guests can bring their own kit or rent it on site. Back on dry land, campers can also do some climbing, or have a shot at archery.
Hungry tums can rid themselves of the rumbles at the on-site café and refreshment kiosk, or partake of the homemade specials on the menu at the Golden Lion pub, a mere 100 yards away.
For further activities, check out the local indoor swimming pool and gym, the crazy golf at Swanpool Beach, and the energetic escapades to be found on the many other golden sands nearby, from coasteering to scuba diving.
Nearby attractions and activities
Stithians Lake is very close to funky Falmouth, where guests can continue the watery theme with a visit to the dockyards and National Maritime Museum, take a tour of Henry VIII’s seaside cottage, Pendennis Castle, or just indulge in some retail therapy.
Horticulturalists will find plenty of inspiration at the nearby Trebah and Glendurgan Gardens, and animal fanciers will go barking mad over the seals, sea lions, otters and penguins at the National Seal Sanctuary in Helston.

Friendly, polite and lots to do if thats what our after Michael B. (With friends, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: The friendly atmosphere and polite staff and the amenities were very good. If the toilets were not up to standard or had issues the staff rectified the problem straight away. All the facilities were very good and there was always someone to help if you had problems either on site or on the lake itself. A very good site for those with an interest in water sports. Disliked: Could benefit from an onsite shop for campers, although it wasn't very far to the nearest supermarket. There is a cafe onsite however whilst camping boiling the kettle on a stove is part of the fun. |

Liked: The site was level with easy access. pitches were of good size though not hard standings, but even though it had been a wet few days the ground was still suitable for a heavy motor home. There is plenty of activities for those energetic types on the water and for those less so, fishing and walking. The site and facilities were very clean and of good standard. the showers were hot and plenty of water ... Disliked: The shower facilities whilst of high standard were not very private, with communal changing area used for boaters etc. Although there are a couple of cubicles, you need to be prepared to display yourself in the buff to all those in the room in order to reach them. |
