General

  • Well-equipped glamping in spectacular surroundings near Penzance
  • Horse school, dressage arena and riding lessons all available on site
  • Within cycling distance of St Michael's Mount

'Glamping in stunning surroundings' is how the team at Rosevidney Glamping describes its spectacular little site five miles from Penzance: take a (long) trip here to find out of what they speak. (Hint: they're very right indeed.)

This is also an excellent place for horsey sorts, with a 60x40metre indoor school, dressage arena and jumping paddock right on site, and lessons available from a highly experienced horse handler. Horse riding is around in the surrounding area too: ask at reception for tips on where to canter.

The Rosevidney facilities include a hygienic and environmentally friendly composting toilet, a conventional toilet at the farm and a shower in a separate hut in the meadow.

The village shop and several local pubs are all within cycling distance.

Please note

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Beautiful site, friendly host and very clean tent 28/03/2018

The spacious tent and the wooden beds (hand-made). Thick blankets were provided as the weather wasn’t that good. The kitchen had everything that we needed with a two burner gas stove for morning drinks. The host was friendly and greeted us as we arrived to show us our tent, shower and compost toilet. He was also available to help us out when needed. Our stunning log fire that kept us warm til the early morning hours.
We had one day of sunshine and had the fire pit outside blazing to toast the marshmallows! So peaceful and quiet, the only the sound we heard was the horses and local train.
There was no wifi but that didn’t bother us as we always carry a pack of cards and with all the fresh air, we were in bed before midnight every night!

Nothing I was sad to leave!

We stayed here and it was our very first camping/glamping experience every; and I can positively say we will be doing it again and hopefully visiting Rosevidney again next year.
Phil is so welcoming and friendly and always on hand to help with anything you need. It's a great location to nearby beaches, landmarks etc. and we had an amazing time.
The site is so quiet and such a beautiful setting - we went with family friends who had little children and it was safe enough for them to play within the meadow without being constantly watched.
    Highly recommend this place :-)

    Disliked:

As most of the reviews; the compost toilet really took some getting used to - the kids and the guys managed just fine but thank god for local pubs haha :-)

Staff were helpful and friendly, very quiet site, clean facilities 20/08/2017

  • Liked:

The tent was large with plenty of space. It had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and one shower and toilet per tent. These were located just outside. The location was perfect for St Ives or penzance. It was very central.

    Disliked:

A bit quiet for the kids. Only four tents to the field so not easy to make other friends.

Local attractions

Bring your bike: as well as sourcing supplies at the village shop and tipples at the local pubs, you'll also be able to reach famed Cornish landmark St Michael's Mount from Rosevidney Glamping, as well as national cycle trails close by. Surfing, kitesurfing and sailing are all easy to get to from here too: ask at reception for info and tips.

This part of the world is of course also famed for its smashing cliffside walks along the South West Coast Path, running for over 600 miles from Minehead in Somerset to Poole Harbour in Dorset. You'll be able to access it easily from most places along the coast; have a go at the St Ives to Pendeen hike (strong legs required), the walk around Cape Cornwall, or the one from Sennen Cove to Lamorna.

About five miles away, arty St Ives is home to the Tate St Ives gallery as well as several smaller arty spaces, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, and – if arty stuff ain't your thing – four splendid sandy beaches too.
