This family-run site converted from a working dairy farm is the recipient of multiple awards, has first-rate facilities including a cosy pub with free wifi, and has five well-stocked fishing lakes on site.
St Tinney is located on the edge of the tiny hamlet of Otterham and four miles from the north Cornish coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The team prides itself on the site’s high standards, whether that’s the newly refurbished shower and loo block with walk-in wetroom showers, the top-quality evening meals in the bar, or the 12 (yup, 12) David Bellamy Gold Conservation Awards showcasing St Tinney’s commitment to conservation and nature; we’re packing as we type...
Bring along your own tent, tourer or motorhome; pitches are well spaced and roomy among three camping and touring fields. It’s all in 34 acres of countryside a mile from the A39, with access to the site via a single track lane with passing places and around it by driveways and gravel paths. Five well-stocked coarse fishing lakes are accessible via earth and shingle tracks. If anyone in your party has mobility issues, just let the team know in the ‘Other details’ box when booking and they’ll do their best to accommodate you.
All pitches are located round the outside edges of our fields, and St Tinney has a modern professionally installed laundrette with commercial washing and drying machines, as well as a combined recycling area outside the shower and toilet block. Two covered outdoor sinks with hot and cold running water for washing up cutlery and crockery are located outside the shower and toilet block.
An on-site licensed bar serves a range of drinks and great food.
There is also a designated dog exercise field, but all dog owners are asked to keep their animals on leads at all other times during their stay and bag and bin any dog mess immediately.
For supplies, Marshgate Post Office a mile and a half away has a general store, with another and a post office at Wainhouse Corner within two and a half miles. There’s a Morrisons at Bude and a Tesco at Launceston, but if you want to take it easy you can get your shopping delivered to the site by Tesco, Asda or Waitrose. Being able to grocery shop from the farm pub? There should be an award for that too.
We do not accept same sex (all male or all female, unless they are from same sex couples) parties of more than three people, or groups of people under the age of 18.
We ask that no commercial or commercially derived vehicles are used on our camping fields or are used as a form of accommodation on site.
The on-site licensed bar is open every evening from 5 April to 1 November.
The pool is open from 12 July to 30 August, weather permitting.
