Big definitely equals better at Hendra Holiday Park, which recently won Cornwall’s Holiday Park of the Year: excitement is guaranteed whatever the weather, thanks to the amazing range of things to do; the evening entertainment programme is chock-a-block with live bands, comedians and cabarets; and ablutions are a five-star affair (the site also enjoys an accolade for ‘Loo of the Year’).
The kids will turn cartwheels when they discover the large indoor and outdoor pool complex, with its flumes, river rapids, geysers and waterfalls (little squirts can splash around without getting flattened in a special toddlers’ area). Once they become too prune-like, the Hippo Kids' Club will take over and entertain them with treasure hunts, nature trails, karaoke, fancy dress and more. Or you can take them to the soft play area or one of the three adventure playgrounds on site.
The other facilities are too numerous to list, but take it as read that you’ll find a good number of bars, cafés, restaurants and takeaways; all manner of sports activities and competitions; plus everything you could possibly need for your stay (and anything you’ve forgotten will probably be on sale at the well-stocked supermarket). The pitches are a good size, and the fields are well designed, with proper access roads and lighting.
Nearby attractions and activities
With so much to do on site, you may find it hard to prise yourself out of Hendra’s landscaped country setting, but bustling Newquay is only minutes away. Aside from its renowned beaches and surf, the town has a zoo and aquarium, great golf courses, horse riding, sailing and watersports, plus eateries of every flavour, and plenty of retail therapy if needed.
On the outskirts of Newquay, Dairyland Farm World and the Lappa Valley Steam Railway are perfect for kids and big kids alike; and if you travel a bit further, you’ll find some of Cornwall’s most popular tourist haunts, such as the Eden Project, the Tate Gallery at St. Ives, St Michael’s Mount, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Land's End and the National Maritime Museum. Hendra has teamed up with some of these local attractions to offer decent discounts to its guests, provided you book your tickets in advance.

Sadly wouldn't return, looks pretty but went downhill after that. Tinks2013 (Family with young children, 6 reviews, 42 photos)
Liked: Location, it's easy to get to Newquay shops and beaches. Disliked: After a long and tiring journey we arrived at Hendra, from the outside it looked very pretty and the gardens well kept. Once we had checked in (which was very quick, well organised and efficient), we arrived at our pitch. Clearly no one had done a pitch inspection as the pitch was unusable, cars had driven over it creating a mass of mud and mess, with the amount of rain they had had over the ... |

Liked: As first time campers we was abit skeptic however we thought the holiday park was brilliant. Shower/toilet block was spotless, hot showers, plenty of toilets/sinks. There was a cleaner constantly keeping it nice . grass pitches were firm and good distances from the neighbours. Not far from main town and beaches. supermarket and camping shop just round the corner (ideal) Disliked: bloody seagulls in the morning (good alarm clock tho) |

Liked: A few improvements on last year with the introduction of a Fish & Chip Shop, Coffee Shop, Patio Heaters Skate-park and no smoking policy around the main entertainment section. Disliked: The limited Arcade games and machines are pretty much the same as the previous year, not much in the way of action games, more the 2p shove games. |
