It’s not often that you can sit back and let the kids go totally loopy, but this is a stress-free parently option at Seaview Holiday Park in Whitstable. There’s the Loopy Kids’ Club for ages 5-14 to keep the littlies busy, and if that’s not enough for them there’s the outdoor pool, games room with arcade and amusements, and a children’s play area. That should keep them happy, if not quiet…
While they’re getting rid of all that childish energy, there’s loads to do at Seaview for frazzled parents too: evening entertainment in the family entertainment complex with lounge bar, a club area with free wifi and eyes down at the regular bingo played simultaneously across twenty Park Holidays sites. Facilities are plentiful too at this well-maintained park: there’s a mini mart and launderette, as well as a drying room and parent and baby washroom, and pitches are in a large touring field with tents welcome.
Once you’re suitably relaxed and ready to explore off site, there’s a beach nearby, an indoor pool and sailing within reach, and the towns of Whitstable and Herne Bay to browse around for oyster-eating, more watersports and a plethora of pubs and restaurants.
Nearby attractions and activities
Whitstable and Herne Bay are within a stroll either way along the coast from Seaview Holiday Park: the fishing and harbour town of Whitstable has a yacht club, the biggest village green in England and annual festivals including the oyster festival in July and the annual international waterski championships from Long Beach. Herne Bay is also a watersports centre – try some Zapcat racing or jet skiing, or if you’re feeling less energetic there’s sea fishing aplenty from here, with the Herne Bay Angling Association running a Beach Bass Competition every May.
Elsewhere, a short drive from Seaview will take you to the best of Kent for all kens: ancient castles, cathedral cities, coastal walks, family days out and lots more fishing are all easily had from here. Nearby Canterbury is a must for Canterbury Cathedral, the oldest cathedral in England, the place of Thomas Becket’s demise and the setting for Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales. There’s also Kent’s International Arts Festival in October, shopping along the King’s Mile, boat trips along the Stour and walking trails and guided walks along the cobbled streets.
The 14-mile track of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway runs across Romney Marsh for steamy sightseers, or for pedal pushers there’s the award-winning Crab and Winkle Way cycle route along the old railway between Canterbury and Whitstable. You can walk the route too, but remember to stop off for a picnic in the forest en route…
Little monkeys can swing through the treetops from the zipwires at Leeds Castle’s Go Ape! while their keepers watch the castle’s peacocks preening about; there are falconry displays, two mazes, boat trips and more at the castle itself. Elsewhere in Kent for the kids, they can go wild at Howletts Wild Animal Park, which has the biggest group of gorillas under human care in the world, or bounce on the giant jumping pillows (yes, really) at Paddock Wood’s Hop Farm Family Park.

Liked: Location of the site Disliked: People at reception are rude.(very..) |

Liked: Very close to the beach and in a nice setting. The baby pool was very warm. Well stocked shop on site. Portaloos were well stocked and clean daily. Disliked: The pool sessions are 45 minutes which worked well as restricts overcrowding but you do need to plan in advance. The 'crazy children's games' put on by the event staff consisted of 3/4 hour of disco party songs - I asked when the games were going to happen and was told that this is it - very disappointed! Bar food is not served until 6 and to be honest is pretty poor. |

close to the seaside magdalena m. (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: Very close to the seaside, oudoor snake and ladders for kids, nice pub with entertainment program, Disliked: Had to pay £10 deposit to get key for the showers, swimming pool wasn't big enough and you can have only 45 minutes session during the day, toilets weren't in good clean condition |

Would stay again Lynn T. (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: The Holiday Park had everything to offer a family with children. It is set in a great location by the sea. The staff were very polite & helpful, I would definately stay again. Disliked: The toilet/shower block was mostly in a bad way and we chose most of the time to use the toilet in the bar, this wasn't much better. Having pointed this out I was told that the cleaners who go in around 9.30 a.m leave the place spotless, and they did so it was more down to the people staying there than the Park. Perhaps a review of the toilets/shower block ... |

Liked: I went with my 6year old daughter and we had a great time and didnt want to go home. We enjoyed the swimming and the facilities in the evening as well as it being reasonably priced. Disliked: It wasnt a dislike- being just a dad and young daughter trip I found it difficult regarding toilets and showering- as she is only 6 couldnt let her shower in the womens,so had to check the mens and take her in there to shower, loo etc. |
