See all facilities…If life seems cheerless, come to Sheerness...the holiday Isle of Sheppey will have you feeling peppy again in no time. Sheerness Holiday Park is set in lovely countryside close to the North Kent coast, a great location for a reinvigorating break for all ages.
You can expect a busy programme of live entertainment in the Kingsferry family clubhouse, excellent kids’ club activities, and good all-round facilities: highlights here are the heated indoor pool complex, with extras such as a sauna and jacuzzi, and a splash pool for the littl’uns; the Gamezone amusements centre; and a pretty fishing pond.
With free wifi, a small shop, launderette, café and licensed bar with Sky TV on site, there’s no need to venture very far; but if you do fancy getting out and about, you’ll find you’re in close proximity of the wide shingly beach at Sheerness, plus the many attractions of the Garden of England. Sheer bliss...
Nearby attractions and activities
The landscapes of Sheerness and the Isle of Sheppey once inspired the eminent painter JMW Turner; these days, they’re home to pretty nature reserves crammed with interesting birdlife, including the country’s largest population of marsh harriers. Sheerness itself is a busy port, with plenty of traditional seaside attractions lining the prom alongside the beach; you’ll also find a good range of watersports and excellent sailing nearby.
Head further into Kent and you can visit the historic cathedral city of Canterbury; saunter around stunning Leeds Castle, which hosts a fantastic schedule of events throughout the year; or go wild at Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, for an authentic safari experience in the heart of the Kent countryside.
The apples of your eye may enjoy a tour of the orchards at Brogdale Farm, where the seasonal fruit festivals offer plenty of opportunities for tasting and taking away; there are giant jumping pillows, an animal farm, a pirate galleon and tons more indoor and outdoor fun at the Hop Farm Family Park in Tonbridge; and budding Bob the Builders (and their dads) will be entranced by the brilliant Diggerland, near Rochester.
This is also an area rich in history and culture, with worthwhile stops including the Whitstable Museum and Art Gallery, Dickens World, and the historic dockyards at Chatham.
