If life seems cheerless, come to Sheerness...the holiday Isle of Sheppey will have you feeling peppy again in no time. Sheerness Holiday Park is set in lovely countryside close to the North Kent coast, a great location for a reinvigorating break for all ages.

You can expect a busy programme of live entertainment in the Kingsferry family clubhouse, excellent kids’ club activities, and good all-round facilities: highlights here are the heated indoor pool complex, with extras such as a sauna and jacuzzi, and a splash pool for the littl’uns; the Gamezone amusements centre; and a pretty fishing pond.

With free wifi, a small shop, launderette, café and licensed bar with Sky TV on site, there’s no need to venture very far; but if you do fancy getting out and about, you’ll find you’re in close proximity of the wide shingly beach at Sheerness, plus the many attractions of the Garden of England. Sheer bliss...

Nearby attractions and activities

The landscapes of Sheerness and the Isle of Sheppey once inspired the eminent painter JMW Turner; these days, they’re home to pretty nature reserves crammed with interesting birdlife, including the country’s largest population of marsh harriers. Sheerness itself is a busy port, with plenty of traditional seaside attractions lining the prom alongside the beach; you’ll also find a good range of watersports and excellent sailing nearby.

Head further into Kent and you can visit the historic cathedral city of Canterbury; saunter around stunning Leeds Castle, which hosts a fantastic schedule of events throughout the year; or go wild at Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, for an authentic safari experience in the heart of the Kent countryside.

The apples of your eye may enjoy a tour of the orchards at Brogdale Farm, where the seasonal fruit festivals offer plenty of opportunities for tasting and taking away; there are giant jumping pillows, an animal farm, a pirate galleon and tons more indoor and outdoor fun at the Hop Farm Family Park in Tonbridge; and budding Bob the Builders (and their dads) will be entranced by the brilliant Diggerland, near Rochester.

This is also an area rich in history and culture, with worthwhile stops including the Whitstable Museum and Art Gallery, Dickens World, and the historic dockyards at Chatham.

Action Watersports - Enjoy the freedom of Jet Skiing, take the challenge or Water-skiing or Enjoy the extreme sport of Wakeboarding. It’s your choice! You can experience these fantastic Watersports on a private lake, in a safe, controlled but fun environment. All equipment supplied, novices to experts welcome.

Farming World at Nash Court - Enjoy the antics of friendly farm animals, meet magnificent shire horses, be enthralled by fantastic falconry displays. Let off steam in huge adventure play parks or tumble in the soft play area.

Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway - One of the best narrow gauge railways in the UK, a fine collection of twelve steam locomotives, on open days at least two operate a regular passenger service on the 1km line and visitors can take unlimited rides.

Leeds Castle - Set in 500 acres of beautiful parkland, a visit to Leeds Castle is full of discovery. A special blend of heritage, wonderful grounds and conservation awaits every visitor to this all year round attraction.

Doddington Place Gardens - Doddington Place is surrounded by wooded countryside in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The lovely landscaped gardens are set in the grounds of an imposing Victorian mansion and cover ten acres.

Minster Abbey Gatehouse Museum - Depicts Sheppey’s fascinating history with a wide range of exhibits including fossils, costumes, paintings and photographs, all set within the unique gatehouse building. Superb views can be experienced from the battlements that are 200 feet above sea level.

The Hop Farm - Packed full of new features, rides and undercover wonders to entertain and fuel imaginations – come and enjoy one of life’s biggest adventures. For a fun filled family day out, immerse yourself in many activities during your visit, there really is something for everyone.

Go Ape! - The UK’s No.1 Tree Top Adventure. Having fun, enjoying adventures & getting outdoors for great days out.
