Livingstone Lodge at Port Lympne, Kent is the UK's only overnight safari lodge. Enjoy a safari experience and a totally magical night under the stars, first-class authentic African dining, dawn safari, full breakfast & more.

Arrival at Port Lympne & Safari
Guests will be greeted with welcome drinks on arrival at Port Lympne, before being transported to another world as they board the specially commissioned safari vehicles and head off into the wilds, where animals roam free as if on the plains of Africa.

Arrival at Livingstone Lodge
Once immersed in these tranquil surroundings, you will be shown to your luxury safari tents where you can enjoy sundowners on your veranda overlooking the 100 acre African Experience and enjoy the breath taking views over the channel to the French coastline.

Evening
An authentic African meal is served with your fellow campers at the LAPA. Your rangers will then talk about their experiences with wildlife in Africa and the vital conservation work of Port Lympne.

Morning
After your night under the stars, your rangers will wake you with coffee and a light snack in the LAPA, before accompanying you on a dawn safari as the animals begin their day.

A sumptuous breakfast follows before guests are returned to the main park to continue their day exploring other animals such as tigers, snow and clouded leopards, red pandas, howler monkeys, black rhino, elephants, gorillas and more!

Livingstone Lodge at Port Lympne Wild Animal Park is located in the South East of England in Kent, and is within easy reach of the home counties of London, Surrey, Sussex, and Essex. You can reach us by road, rail and bus.

Travelling by Car

If you are travelling by road Livingstone Lodge at Port Lympne wild animal park lies on the B2067, and is just past Ashford, Kent. It is also a short distance from Canterbury, Folkestone and the southeast coast of England.

Travelling from Surrey and West Sussex could not be easier. Your fastest route will be to join the M25 and travel in the direction of the Dartford Tunnel. Then take the M26/M20, and leave the M20 at Junction 11 just past Ashford. Port Lympne is a 10 minute drive from this point. Just follow the brown tourist signs to the park. Estimated travelling time from Junction 8 of the M25 is 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Directions from London, Essex and East Sussex include joining the M25/ M26. Look for signposts to the M20 in the direction of Ashford to determine your direction of travel. Follow the M20 to Junction 11 and then follow the brown tourist signs to Port Lympne. Estimated travelling time from the M25/M26 or M25/M20 interchange is 45 minutes.

Travelling by Public Transport

Port Lympne Wild Animal park is approximately a 1 hour and 20 minute train and bus journey from Charing Cross or Victoria railway station in London, or approximately 40 minutes from St Pancras International, London, on the high speed service (Please see South Eastern Trains website for details). Take the train to Ashford International station, and from here take a bus journey from the domestic station side. The Stagecoach East Kent number 10 bus runs between Ashford and Folkestone via the park. For bus times please call 0871 2002233 If you prefer to travel to us by Coach, find your nearest service to Ashford International before connecting with the Stagecoach bus service.

Travelling from Overseas

The park is easily reached from the Channel ports and is only a 10 minute drive from Le Shuttle terminal. Eurostar passengers alighting at Ashford International station can take the number 10 Stagecoach bus to the park entrance.
