Little Satmar Holiday Park

8.9 Favourite
From £16 (for 1 night, 2 adults)   Why not enter some details and get an accurate price?

Looking for some friendly fields to flop in on the fringes of Folkestone? Little Satmar Holiday Park is a tranquil little place a short stroll away from some fantastic clifftop walks. It’s an ideal pit stop for those en route to Europe, or for longer stays to explore Dover, Canterbury and the Garden of England.

There are ten acres of pretty grounds, with great showers and loos, a park shop, launderette and washing up facilities. Most of the level grass pitches can be booked with an electric hook-up if desired.

Nearby attractions and activities

Little Satmar Holiday Park is just up the road from the village of Capel-le-Ferne, which has a weekly farmers’ market and a clifftop café offering some tasty views; but the place is best known as the site of the Battle of Britain memorial, a moving sculpture of an airman gazing out over the Channel.

Don’t miss a ticket to ride the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Light Railway: cute steam trains a third the normal size, which offer a fun, hour-long jaunt between the pretty town of Hythe and the desolate yet dramatic landscape at Dungeness.

For a train on an entirely different scale, head to Ashford, where you can pick up the Eurostar to Lille, Paris or Brussels. In fact, Little Satmar Holiday Park is a great site for anyone who fancies a short hop over to the continent: if you’re taking the car, the Channel Tunnel is only three miles away, or you can easily get to Dover to pick up a ferry.

Dover itself is worth an outing, for a tour of its historic castle and museums, or head inland, where you’ll find the World of Butterflies at MacFarlane’s Nurseries and Garden Centre, and Port Lympne Zoo Park, Mansion and Gardens, the nearest you’ll get to an authentic African safari experience within these fair shores.

Liked: The location was great, perfect distance from everything, but close enough to walk to the pub and to the cliffs over looking Folkstone, delightful!
The showers and toilets were nice and clean.

Disliked: No water connection on each pitch - that's all!

From the manager...

We are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your kind words.
Part/fully serviced pitches is something which we would like to offer, however as you can imagine the infrastructure and cost are a major factor at this present time.
Thank you again for your review.

The staff were helpful and friendly. There was a good supply of information leaflets. The pitch layout was good and pitches are a decent size.

Disliked: There were only 3 showers and even in September I had to wait for a cubicle. Also you had to keep pushing a button to obtain hot water in the shower and the timing was very short so it was hard washing and rinsing hair.
