Quex Caravan Park is well placed for sandy beaches, picturesque harbours and seaside amusements, all within a 15-minute drive.

For those feeling energetic, there’s a golf course and driving range close by, as well as ten pin bowling, horseriding, family-friendly cycling along the Viking Coastal Trail, and sailing at nearby Minnis Bay.

At Quex Park House, visitors will find Regency splendour, glorious gardens, and the eclectic Powell-Cotton Museum, which has some awesome natural history exhibits. Continue the walk on the wild side with a day at Howletts Wild Animal Park, home to big cats, gorillas, lemurs and many other rare species, in 90 acres of beautiful ancient parkland.

Scalextric and Airfix fans will love drooling over the exhibits at the Hornby Visitor Centre; other nearby museums include the RAF Spitfire and Hurricane Memorial Trust, the Dickens House Museum, plus a great variety of galleries, including the spectacular new Turner Contemporary in Margate. Venture a little further to the charming cathedral city of Canterbury and there are many more, along with great shopping and cultural attractions.

It’s also easy to hop on the local train service to visit places further along the coast such as Herne Bay and Whitstable, or even take a day trip to France from nearby Ramsgate or Dover.

Liked: The site staff and fellow visitors were all very friendly and up for a chat.
Despite several children of varying ages being on site there was no issue with noise at night - everyone was very considerate.
The pitches were just large enough for our needs and in good order.
Facilities well maintained, big recycling & waste area.
Kids play area - could have had some more suitable equipment for under 5's but otherwise very good. Lovely ...

Disliked: Electric hook ups didn't seem to be quite up to the task. One point is shared between 2 pitches and the power tripped several times over our 3 day stay, only took a kettle being boiled to trip it.
Intermittent hot water (or should I say alternating tepid & freezing) in the showers after 10am, although I suppose by that time most people had already had their showers and used up the water.
