  • Family holiday park set in 100 acres of Kent countryside
  • A 10-minute drive from Margate's beach and attractions
  • Pool, clubhouse, restaurant and family bar
Kent countryside… but more essentially, Kent coast. Kids who clamour for maximum sandy days while on hol – and grownups who clamour for loads of options to keep small sorts fully busy – will be hugely chuffed at the setting of Birchington Vale Holiday Park, a few miles from the miles of golden sandy beaches of the north Kent coast. But back to the setting in a bit… For even the fussiest guest (of whatever size) should find something to keep them entertained at this well-equipped family park: there's an indoor pool with flume to splash around at; an adventure playground and an amusement arcade for adventurous and amusing hours; crazy golf; pottery classes; archery... and Loopy and pals as park mascots overseeing the lot and the kids' club. More? Stroll over to the clubhouse for eats all day long, as well as evening drinks in the family bar, evening entertainment for all the family, and a scenic setting for Sky Sports and to use the free wifi at the bar. The clubhouse also has a shop if you'd rather sort your own dins. And that setting? Birchington Vale is on 100 acres of Kent countryside, three and a half miles from Margate and within easy reach of loads of family attractions including Howletts Wild Animal Park under half an hour away. Many local attractions lay on exclusive deals for park guests.

Camping pod

Liked: parking is next to the cabins, the pod was comfortable and spacious.

Disliked: The bathrooms were disgusting, it seems that the one who cleans does not do it well and does not do it every day, when they should be kept clean because it is easy to pick up bacteria with so much dirt, the dishwasher area was disgusting full of cobwebs and totally dirty for sure You had months without cleaning that area. The pod was dirty full of spider mites and dust, the pool you have to booking with one day previous to enter and it's only 45 minutes, I have no problem with them keeping track, but they sell you the pool as an area for enjoyment but It's really not for all day or any time it's just limited. I don’t know I think I pay a lot of money for sleep in dirty place.

Camping pod

Liked: Fantastic! We stayed in a camping pod. It was clean with a nice big play patch of grass and paths for the kids to ride their bikes. Nice big bar area overlooking the kids park with zipline, swings and slides. Swimming pool was clean, good size and a really good slide. All the staff I spoke to were really friendly and helpful. We arrived early and they let us check in 3 hours early. All for a really good price, even during the Easter weekend. No complaints, I will certainly go back.

Disliked: Path to bathroom was a little bit muddy, could do with wood chips or something.

Camping pod

Liked: Pod itself was great, toilet was fairly clean, swimming pool clean and warm

Disliked: Path to WC was Pitch black (no lights on the path leading to the toilets), very slippery due to mud on the way to toilet..I would recommend them to pave the path to toilet and pod area.. Washing area, absolutely filthy, full of spiders, mosquito and bugs.. I don't think I can upload a video here but omg I haven't witnessed this anywhere yet). I dont think it would take that much time to regular cleaning and lick of paint, perhaps put a door. Entertainment and arcade(no change machine working and bar refused to give changes to play pool or arcade games) ..you can imagine children faces and emotion at that point. Maybe install a drinking water supply tap at the middle of pod area No food served after 8pm

Camping pod

Liked: The pods was clean and comfortable the site it's self was clean too. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Disliked: Some of the pathways to toilet facilities was very muddy so maybe wood chip them as least. Also maybe provide an outdoor mat for the pods to help not take mud in to them. Especially on wet days

Camping pod

Liked: With the weather turning colder the Pod we stayed in was cosy and warm. The bathroom facilities were kept clean at all times and the clubhouse had a warm and friendly atmospher. I would highly recommend Birchington Vale to friends and family to enjoy a break at this well run and well maintained camp.

Camping pod

Liked: Lovely park, nice, fresh, well kept, friendly staff, clean and everyone helpful. Staff went above and beyond with our baby twins and entertainment in the evening kept them happy and falling asleep early!

Disliked: We thought there would be wash up facilities as we were staying in the camping pods, however there were none. All food and drinks was supposed to be had in the restaurant it seemed. Also you had to pay for internet.

Camping pod

Liked: Amazing location! Facilities are some of the best, especially considering the price of the stay, with hairdryers provided and a nice clean toilet/shower block. The camping pod field is a bit of a walk from the facilities but otherwise great.

Camping pod

Liked: The pod, mini golf, swimming pool and weekend entertainment. Very good for the kids.

Disliked: The fact that the pod had easy access to both carparks making it hard to contain young children within the pod area plus the fact that you have to pay for WiFi.

Local attractions

There's heaps to do for all ages and inclinations around this part of Kent coast and Kent countryside. All ages should have a hoot at Margate, with its lengthy sandy beach to bask on as well as a scenic harbour which should be your scenic spot for Margate fish and chips. Also on your list should be the Dreamland Amusement Park, then a jaw-dropped look at an attraction of a completely different vibe but a spectacular sight: the famed Shell Grotto and its huge mosaics made up of over four and a half million shells. Like quite a few fascinating things in humankind's history (aka, Stonehenge), no-one quite knows who put the shells there or why: let the kids enthral you with their increasingly bonkers theories while there. Family day trips include Diggerland, to drive full-sized diggers; Leeds Castle and Go Ape, and the 28 acres of grounds at Kent Life, the open-air museum and heritage farm park on the bank of the River Medway. All are 50 minutes' drive away. Canterbury and the Canterbury Tales are half an hour's drive away.
