See all facilities…Our bell tents, located at Old Barn Touring Park, have a great retro look and, with a floor space similar to that of a yurt or tepee, offer delightful accommodation perfect for both couples and families. Bell tents are 100% cotton canvas which, unlike nylon, mean they are cool in the day and warm at night. And they don’t leak…perfect for the British climate!
Each bell tent is raised on its own deck with outside seating and furnished with a double bed, double futon, storage and some cool finishing touches. Our bell tents have their own electricity supply for fairy lights, charging your mobile and making a cuppa! To make your holiday as hassle free as possible we provide everything you’ll need for cooking; cosy pillows and duvets, and even the kitchen sink (well a washing up bowl at least!). If you don’t have space to bring your own bed linen we can provide those too at a small additional charge. Toilets, hot showers and washing up facilities are a short walk away and shared with other campers.
Our bell tents are situated in a peaceful corner on The Old Barn Park campsite which is a quiet family campsite set in beautiful countryside yet close to the popular seaside town of Shanklin on the Island's south-east coast. The park name comes from the charming 17th-century thatched barn located at the park entrance. The barn now houses a games and TV room and there is also a small children’s play area and duck pond.
Nearby attractions and activities
The campsite is perfectly positioned for countryside walks and cycle rides on which we are happy to provide more details. Opposite the campsite entrance there is a garden centre with café perfect for lunch or afternoon tea. A quarter of the mile down the road is an out-of-town supermarket to stock up on all those necessities and the charming town of Shanklin with sandy beaches and quaint 'Old Village' is a five-minute drive away.
The Isle of Wight is a short ferry ride and a whole world away from the mainland. Often called the Garden Isle due to its amazing scenery and warm climate, half of the island has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. From dramatic cliffs to beautiful countryside, enchanting woodlands to sandy beaches, its all here in abundance.
The island offers an eclectic mix of things to see and do. Families will find something for all ages including theme parks, animal sanctuaries and zoos, farms, museums, stately homes, castles and a steam railway. Beach lovers can explore the island’s 70 miles of coastline or just find a perfect spot to relax for the day.
For walkers there are over 500 miles of well maintained footpaths and an acclaimed walking festival taking place every May. Or if you prefer pedal power there is a great network of cycle tracks, bridleways and quiet lanes to explore. Out on the water, activities including sailing, kite surfing, canoeing and water skiing are all available for beginners to experts, or just spectating if you prefer.
If you're a foodie, you'll find some of the UK’s finest local produce here available to sample at the many farm shops, cafes, delis and local restaurants.
The island hosts more festivals than you can shake a stick (or tambourine) at – for music lovers there's the world-famous Isle of Wight Festival, Bestival and the alternative Rhythmtree and Folkstation. If you like your cars we have VW, classic cars and scooter rallies. And if you love your food then try the garlic festival, sweetcorn festival or apple festival!

We had a really amazing stay at wight bells. Would definitely come again. Kirsty-marie_W (Young couple, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: Everything. It was a lovely, nice sized tent, was nicely decorated, felt like a home. Comfortable, dry, warm. Everything you needed to have a great stay. Was nicely located also, and the campsite on a whole was very nice. Would definitely want to come back and stay there again. Disliked: having to leave. |
