Along with the white cliffs, the kaleidoscopic vista of golden sands, turquoise seas and forest green hills at this family-friendly site will leave you tickled pink.

At Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park there’s a roomy outdoor swimming pool, as well as an indoor version with jacuzzi, toddler pool and water flume. Diminutive campers can have fun exploring the soft play room, adventure playgrounds, mini golf and diverse activities laid on in summertime (metal detecting on the beach, exploding volcano experiments, flying remote-controlled helicopters...)

The evenings ring in some good quality family fun too. No jazz hands here: the cabaret includes top artists from the West End belting out rock anthems and the like; and in the summer months, there are atmospheric outdoor film screenings on the lawns looking out over the bay.

Another nice touch is the new “Magic Lounge About” programme of events in high season: guests can burrow into a beanbag with a beer from the bar, and enjoy talks and demonstrations from local businesses on everything from ice cream to llamas...

Nearby attractions and activities

One of the attractions of the Isle of Wight is that so much is crammed into a relatively small area, and guests can easily get to all the major sights simply by jumping on a bus outside the park.

Budding zoologists are spoiled for choice: as well as the Owl and Monkey Haven, there are tigers and big cats at the Isle of Wight Zoo, alpacas, penguins and meerkats at the Seaview Wildlife Encounter, and over 200 species on view at the Amazon World Zoo Park. There’s also a donkey sanctuary at Carisbrooke Castle, where visitors can see where King Charles I was banged up (instead of bawling, he went bowling, and you can still play on the very same green).

Historical types should also check out Osbourne House, the seaside palace where Queen Vicky, Bertie and brood used to come to top up their tans, or take a tour of the mosaics and Roman jewellery on display at Brading Roman Villa.

If the sun is shining, the obvious choice is Sandown beach, for sandpies and swimming, followed by dodgems on the pier, or a visit to the animated dinosaurs at Dinosaur Isle. It’s also worth taking a boat trip to see the iconic chalk stacks and lighthouse at the Needles, or going loco on the Havenstreet Steam Railway.

For oohs, aahs and eeks, Blackgang Chine has loads of exciting and eccentric rides and exhibits crammed into 40 acres of Victorian gardens, and there’s a toboggan run, 3D maze and more rollercoasters at its sister theme park, Robins Hill.

If it’s raining, Dad could be dispatched to Ryde to take the kids ice-skating or bowling, while Mum pays a visit to the jewellery collection at Isle of Wight Pearl (and maybe comes home with a piece made from the contents of an oyster that she personally plucked from the “Pick a Pearl” pool...).

Liked: I have not used this internet site before and I needed a cheap pitch close to home as the tent had not seen daylight for over 12 months. When I saw the price[£4 deposit and a balance of £28] for 6 day's I booked straight away. Two weeks before I was due on site I visited it to see what the site was like.
I was met at reception by Karren the touring ...

Liked: The site was great the facilities were also perfectly clean and usable. With the sea being only a short walk work out great.

Disliked: Terrible site security was kept up until 2am from a young group having what seemed like a nightclub in their tent!! Very loud music and another group decided to have a bonfire. Their was no sign of the so called site security and nobody to contact regarding this. Raised this to reception in the morning and got hardly an apology would not stay again!!

Liked: We were impressed with the very warm and informative meeting on arrival at the reception, well done to that gentleman. Good clubhouse, which even had a Halloween Evening, during our stay, which the children loved. We visited the indoor pool which was small,, but had a slide into it, this was off at the time, but once an attendant was asked, was soon switched on as was the jacuzzi. We ate off site or self ...

Disliked: The very high bar prices!!! The ladies changing rooms in the pool area could have been cleaner.

Liked: The beach is great, cafe adds some value, as you don't have to bring the food with you. Swimming pool could be bigger, but not too bad and staff is very friendly. Tents are separated from the main site by the road, which is not safe for children. Views are great.

Liked: The fact we could access the site at 11.00 a.m. and didn't have to wait until 4.00 p.m.
The reception staff charged my mobile daily for me. The site felt so safe - I allowed my 7 yr old son to take a shopping list and money to the supermarket for the first time. The staff helped him with the high up items. The toilets and showers were clean throughout the ...

Disliked: Obviously this cannot be helped, but the fact that the main road has to be crossed to get from the canvas and caravan side of the site to the main site where the pools and entertainment were. This wasn't a problem for our family, but if my children were older and wanting to go to the other side I would definitely have to go with them accross the road. Having said that, both sites ...

Liked: My children enjoyed the indoor pool. I liked the small walk to the sandy beach and the two little cafe's located on the beach. I enjoyed the evening entertainment and the value for money family deals on eating out.

Disliked: I disliked only the fact of the weather as I was in a tent it rained and was very windy but hey can't control the weather. Nothing what so ever to dislike about Whitecliffe Bay Holiday Park.

Liked: The location of the site was perfect for getting around places.
The outside pool open from 10am to 6pm and is heated with at least 2 lifeguards on duty at all times, who were friendly.
Nab bar breakfast superp - if going for a full English, go for the unlimited one!!
There's plenty to do and to keep the kids entertained, including a play area with modern/ new wooden climbing frame. In addition, there is ...

Disliked: There was nothing to dislike about the site, other than it was very winding in the afternoon and evening, but that's nature for you!!!
Again, out of the parks control, but O2 phone signal week and very intermittent 3G.

Liked: Staff were friendly and helpful, facilities were clean, kids activities were well organised and great that there was at least 1 per day for free.

Disliked: Nab Bar drinks are sometimes oddly mixed - for example a jug of Pimms had only 2 measures of Pimms in a 8-9 drink jug. Having said that the food is very reasonable and beer/wine seemed about average.

Liked: The pitch was a good size for our large tent and had fantastic views over the Culver Down. The facilities mean you dodn't need to leave the campsite if you dodn't want to. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The Nab bar breakfast was huge and really tasty! The activity passes were a really good idea and value for money. We all really enjoyed our holiday, from age 42 down to ...

Disliked: It is a holiday park that needs a little TLC! I didn't mind the odd things but others might. People don't clean up after themselves in the showers,so there was loo roll on the floor and mud, but the staff are there every morning cleaning so it is done! The indoor pool needs a bit of updating and cleaning, bars missing from the side and mildew in the showers, but the kids ...

Liked: Vast improvement to the campsie. last used approx 30 years ago...Now staged, reasonably leveal pitches.
Being on the campsite also gives you access to the main site and all the facilities, indoor/out door swimming, club house etc., etc.
Good value for money

Disliked: There could have been more fresh water taps. Obviously for a younger person the hilly/sloping site is probably no big problem but a bit of a drag for a more mature camper

Liked: Whitecliff bay is a lovely location. We camped for 2 weeks, the campsite was at full capacity. Unfortunately there were problems with noise (up to 2am) and cleanliness of toilets, which could have been resolved with increased staff. However, the site offers (across a road) many activities including an outdoor evening film show in a beautiful setting.

Disliked: Unfortunately the toilets / showers were dirty and no management of the site at night, led to late night parties - which did have a negative impact on our holiday experience. However, this may have just been whilst we were there, the site itself has plenty of potential.

All caravan and camping guests are requested that when setting up, a three-metre gap is maintained between your own caravan/motor home or tent accommodation and your neighbours’ accommodation.

Anyone not adhering to this will be asked to move. Electric hook-ups are rated at 16amps/3680 watts 230v supply. Please do not exceed this limit. We regret that we do not permit the use of generators on the Park.

Jumbo tents/motor homes may not fit on one pitch (approx 10m by 10m) when allowing for any awning/gazebo and the mandatory minimum 3 metre fire break between units. In this event, guests must book an additional pitch. If after arrival it is found that the combined dimensions of the tent/motor home/ gazebo/fire break exceed the pitch area, guests will be charged for an additional pitch and may be asked to re-site. Guests with caravans/motor homes are not permitted to erect tents on the same pitch but may erect one awning. Camping guests may erect one tent per pitch. Please note that trailer tents are regarded by us as tents.

We do not accept working vehicles on Park, this includes pickup trucks, vans and open back trucks.

Payments

The full price of your Park Cancellation Plan premium (£4 per person, per holiday for self catering and £2 per person, per holiday for caravan and camping) must also be paid (if plan required) with all balances. The Company must receive the balance of monies due at least eight weeks prior to the date of arrival. Should this not be forthcoming The Company reserves the right to re-let the accommodation and shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising in consequence thereof.

Children

The supervision of children on the Park is the responsibility of their parents or guardians at all times. Particular attention must be paid to children in the playground and swimming pool areas. The club activities form part of our entertainment programme, and are not childcare facilities. We do not provide supervision of the children during sessions. It is important that you always know where your children are, and that you know the times that the activities start and finish. It is particularly important that you make sure that your children understand that they should always obey the instructions of the Entertainments Team members, Sports Instructors and Lifeguards, so that the possibility of accidents can be reduced.

Park Regulations

The operation of a business, buying, selling or trading under whatever conditions is strictly prohibited on the Park without the express authority of The Company. No excessive noise is permitted in the grounds, accommodation units or camping site after midnight. The management may evict persons who abuse this regulation. The Company cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to personal property or persons howsoever caused. Please note that the flying of kites is not permitted at Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park.

Your Holiday Environment

Our Park is situated in a rural and coastal location, partly covered by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on Heritage Coasts and adjacent to Sites of Special Scientific Interest or Conservation Areas. These areas may be unfamiliar to you, and because of this it is advisable to acquaint yourselves with your holiday environment as soon as you arrive. Walking over grassy and often undulating ground, or through wooded parkland may also be unfamiliar, and contain aspects of wildlife such as rabbit holes that you and your children need to avoid.

Local Authority planning constraints, that help to preserve the rural nature of Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park, also limits the amount of street lighting we can provide in some areas of the Park. It is also intentionally reduced to assist children to sleep at night. So please take care when walking around the Park and remember that you are in an unfamiliar environment, particularly at night. It is always advisable to carry a pocket torch to assist you and to avoid any accidents. In line with current legislation, please note that all venues at Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park are designated non smoking areas. The legislation does not apply to holiday accommodation.

Please Take Care

Please treat the property, facilities, accommodation and touring pitches and facilities at Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park with respect and care so that other guests may continue to enjoy them. In the event that you notice damage to any facility or in your accommodation please report it to Reception immediately so that we may take appropriate action.

Club Membership/Guest Passes

Club Membership/Guest Passes are issued to all guests on arrival at the Park. Guests should carry their membership cards with them at all times as they will be asked to present these on entry into the Park facilities. Lost membership cards can only be replaced by The Company’s management for which there will be no extra charge. All holidaymakers’ names are registered as members of the club on the Park.

Licensing Laws

In accordance with UK licensing laws, we can only sell alcohol to persons aged 18 or over. We may require you to show proof of age using an approved form of identification. We accept the following forms of ID: full passport, a new style driver’s licence incorporating a photograph, a valid proof of age card.

Accommodation Bookings

Whilst we will do our best to meet requests for specific accommodation, we cannot guarantee allocation of specific units or areas. Guests should be aware that at busy times clean linen, high chairs and travel cots may not be delivered until 4pm or later on their day of arrival. Any wilful, malicious or negligent damage will be charged to the holiday guests and may result in immediate termination of the holiday and possible legal action. Guests should report any maintenance problems immediately to Reception and not attempt remedial action themselves.

Please check your smoke alarm on arrival. The Company reserves the right to enter any accommodation unit on the Park whilst it is let in order to inspect and affect any repairs that may be found to be necessary. If you have any friends who wish to visit you while you are staying with us, please contact reception where they will be issued with a day pass.

Infectious Illnesses

Please inform the Duty Manager via Reception should you suffer from an infectious illness whilst you are on holiday. For the protection of our guests and staff, anyone found to have such an illness may be confined to their accommodation or requested to leave the Park.

Swimming Pools

The Company’s Swimming Pool policy is displayed in both pools and entry into either pool will be deemed to confirm that guests accept and will abide by this policy. The lifeguard’s decision is final in all matters of pool safety. Please check with the Park for the opening times of our outdoor pool.

Prices

Holidays booked directly with The Company and charged in accordance with the current published tariff are fully inclusive of the supply of linen and provision of electricity and gas and entrance to the Park’s facilities. The Company reserves the right to make a supplementary charge for any of the above should a booking be made through a third party or agent.

We reserve the right to increase prices only where there is an increase in Value Added Tax or any other tax applicable to your holiday. Please note that all prices shown are inclusive of VAT at the current rate. Certain caravans are sub-let by us on behalf of private owners who are not registered for VAT. In such cases the price shown does not include VAT on the booking charge, but does include a handling fee (which includes VAT). In any event the price shown remains the same.

In the event that Ferry Operators make changes to their prices we reserve the right to amend our published tariffs and charge the revised rate.

Availability of Facilities and Entertainment

Indoor and outdoor swimming pools are subject to seasonal opening times. Please contact us for details. Please note that guests must be over one metre tall to use our swimming pool flume. Children under eight years old must be accompanied by an adult in the water of the swimming pool. The operation of our Park is subject to legislation and the guidelines laid down by the Health & Safety Executive and Local Authorities and their codes of practice. We accordingly reserve the right to adjust our services in order to meet these standards.

It is possible that in some circumstances accommodation, entertainment or a facility may have to be temporarily withdrawn, due to maintenance, renovation, adverse weather conditions, changes in governmental legislation, or any other factor outside our control. We reserve the right to make such alterations in the above circumstances without prior notice, and are unable to accept liability for the loss of an advertised facility, or to pay compensation for any inconvenience caused. Should changes occur, we will advise of these changes, where made prior to booking and will use reasonable endeavours to advise guests already booked of any changes made thereafter.
