The comfy, heated pods have kingsize beds with bedding supplied, so all you need to do is rock up and relax, with no worries about noisy ball games or rowdy groups nearby: this is a bijou site for grown-ups only.

Two Hoots Campsite has received multiple plaudits for its innovative approach and eco-friendly facilities, which include a utilities block with fridge, microwave and kettle, plus of course showers and loos.

Nearby attractions and activities

A short stroll from Two Hoots Campsite is the picturesque Watercress Steam Railway, which wends its way through ten miles of pretty Hampshire countryside from Alresford to Alton. Alresford itself is a beautiful town with colour-washed Georgian buildings, interesting specialist shops and eateries, and a lovely riverside walk.

The local area has something for all tastes: action junkies can try out tank driving, quad biking and go karting, or for something more sedate, hot air ballooning; for countryphiles, there are country parks, nature reserves and pretty gardens to explore; history buffs will find Stonehenge is easily accessible, along with Jane Austen’s House and other famous country piles; the nearby zoo, Birdworld, farms and Hawk Conservancy Trust should satisfy the most demanding of animal fans; and there are even wine-tasting opportunities at the local vineyard for oenophiles. Plus of course miles of walking, cycling and horse-riding through the glorious scenery surrounding the site...

The medieval city of Winchester, with its magnificent cathedral, museums and shopping, and the ancient market town of Petersfield, which also has a bustling cultural scene, are both around 11 miles from Two Hoots Campsite.

Liked: The lodge was everything we wanted for a short break away.
facilities on site was excellent and absolutly spotless! We couldnt of asked for more.
The pod was not far from the pretty town of Arlesford, very nice pubs!
Staff were brilliant happy to give full knowledge of site and surrounding area's, even supplied a folder full of things to do and see, an excellent idea for people who don't know the area.

Disliked: There isn't anything I can say I disliked about the campsite, apart from you need a good torch as when night falls it is pitch black, but this was informed to us when we booked.

Liked: The hobbit pods and the facilities at Two Hoots are excellent and we would both recommend it/stay again.

The campsite is very peaceful and relaxing with great scenery.

if you aren't familiar with the area it's worth reading up on what is nearby although Two Hoots do provide comprehensive tourist information - much appreciated!

Disliked: After booking through pitchup you're obliged to settle the balance two weeks before your stay. This is all explained very clearly but inevitably we forgot and our booking was cancelled with out us realising!

A reminder email would of been appreciated.

Luckily Two Hoots were very helpful and this was sorted out over a couple of phone calls without any problems.

So nice of you to take the time to leave a review, it’s always good to get feedback & even better when we hear Glampers have enjoyed their stay.

Will look into a reminder payment e-mail although our software at present is not capable of sending automated e-mail reminders & to keep costs down we have to minimise our workload.
We do not wish to chase customers for payment or for them to rely on our reminder e-mail, as we are learning some emails invariably go astray.
To date luckily you are the only booking in 2 years that has inevitably forgotten to settle the balance which is why we honoured your original booking price with no additional charges.
Thank you for your thoughts on this.

Nice to hear you appreciated the local information book, invaluable when campers haven’t had a chance to check out the local area.
It’s nice you are both happy to recommend & would return.
We hope to see you on your next visit. Thank you

Liked: This is one superb touring caravan site and really is, in our opinion, simply the best there is.
The warm and friendly welcome from Caz & Dave gets you off to the best possible start and sets you up for your stay.
They genuinely care for their site - and it shows.
The facilities are absolutely immaculate and you feel that attention to detail is the byword here.
The view and location is just stunning and with ...

Disliked: Nothing to dislike.
Actually, there was one thing we disliked...leaving!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, it’s very much appreciated.
It’s always nice to hear that our campers have enjoyed their stay at Two Hoots.
It brings a smile and makes everything worthwhile.
We enjoy our job and always strive to get everything just right for our campers, so they enjoy their stay, and like you book a return trip.
We are lucky enough to have a growing list of campers that have become regulars and good friends, for us it’s all about happiness, enjoyment, laughter and sometimes a bit of banter thrown in for good measure.
Look forward to seeing you again. Thank You !

Directions

Get directions

Full road directions will be sent with your booking conformation, if you require any other transport information just ask.

Grid Ref: SU6302132970
From the A31 which runs between Alton & Winchester there is a village called Ropley.

By Car: From Ropley Dean (the main road in Ropley) turn onto Bighton Hill (it's a small crossroads, signposted Bighton). Bighton Hill leads directly into Sutton Wood Lane on one of the bends.
You will go up a hill, over a small railway bridge, pass a few houses and bungalows on the left, then the road narrows with a sharp blind right hand, then left-hand bend. You are now in Sutton Wood Lane. You pass a drive on your left, this is called “The Ramblers” (although there is no sign). Our site is the next drive on the left side with double wooden five-bar gates and campsite signs. It’s just before “Cartrel” bungalow and the next right hand bend.

Please don’t turn in until you see campsite signs. Our neighbours won’t appreciate a visit, however short!

By Train: mainline train to Alton and either the bus to Ropley or take a steam train on the famous Watercress steam railway line to Ropley station (timetable allowing) approx 1.1 miles from us...uphill !
Or a main line train to Winchester & bus from here.

By Bus: the main bus stops are at Ropley Dean (approx one mile from the site uphill!). The 64 stops here.
