Our hostel is a converted family home located on a secluded unmade lane about half a mile outside Burley village in the heart of the New Forest. The hostel has a large garden and the site is therefore a peaceful and safe place for all, whether individuals, families or small groups. Burley village, a short walk away, has a number of gift shops along with several cafes and pubs.

The hostel has a lounge, two fully equipped self-catering kitchens (one inside, one outside), two dining areas (one inside, one outside), a cycle store and a drying room (of sorts!).

We serve a buffet-style cooked/continental breakfast each morning, and offer packed lunches which can be booked on arrival. Home-cooked evening meals are served from 6-7.30pm.

Daytime access: Once checked in there is access to the hostel building all day.

Night-time access: The hostel is locked at 11pm but a key can be provided for late access. Guests staying on the campsite have overnight access to the camping block (with shower, toilet and kitchen).

Self-catering: We have two small self-catering kitchens (one inside and one in the campers' block) equipped with crockery, cutlery, pots and pans. Cloths, tea-towels and washing-up liquid are also provided. Fridges, kettles and a toaster are provided although there is currently no microwave. There is a food store in the village (limited opening hours) and supermarkets in Ringwood. BBQ’s are permitted, if raised off the ground.

Liked: We spent August Bank Holiday week end at this campsite and we were all quite impressed:)
Friendly helpful staff, great facilities which campers can use in the hostel itself, ie showers, kitchen with all cooking equipment, lounge with games, dinning area for cooked breakfast in the morning.

Also there is cooking/washing machine-dryer /shower out side for campers!

Small pitching area so never to busy or noisy;)

Liked it and will return:)

Disliked: No fires allowed:( apart from that enjoyed our stay:)

Liked: Small camping area at side of YHA hostel. Good hostel facilities available for all to use (lounge/games room, kitchen, showers). Great camping block at rear of hostel with small kitchen (cooker, 2 fridges, kettle, pans, plates etc.), small indoor dining area, and washroom (shower, toilet, washing machine). Brilliant for me as I don't have a camping stove. Easy walk into busy village of Burley - little shops, pubs and activities nearby. I hope to ...

Disliked: I really can't think of anything I didn't like!

Liked: The friendliness of the staff, the small camping area which is effectively the front lawn of the house that is now the YHA and the good facilities, the short walk to the fab White Buck pub down the road! Generally the campsite is very peaceful and there are often ponies wandering down the track leading to the site.

Disliked: I've stayed here a few times and sometimes there have been larger groups using the hostel who tend to make noise outside where they can smoke - unfortunately this is simply a case of selfish people with no consideration for others.

Liked: The alternative holiday we were forced to find!

Disliked: We booked, and paid for the ready pitched tents here on-line. We tried to book direct with YHA, however they don't do bookings for these tents 'during the day'.
The following day we were sent an e-mail stating that although we had booked, and paid for our weekend, this was no longer available!
I am fairly confident that they must have had a better offer of a longer booking. We were then left with ...
