Brocklands Farm

Despite its name, guests at Brocklands Farm are highly unlikely to be badgered by anyone during their stay. This beautifully simple and peaceful site near Petersfield, in the South Downs National Park, has just 15 roomy pitches for caravans and motorhomes, hidden far from traffic noise in a lush green valley, surrounded by lovely walks.

The facilities are limited to chemical waste disposal and a drinking water supply, but it’s an easy walk to the village of West Meon, where there’s a pub that serves top-notch grub, an award-winning butcher and a village shop selling local speciality produce.

The pitches are grassy and fairly level; rally groups and well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Nearby attractions and activities

The tree-lined former railway line that runs next to Brocklands Farm is an ideal starting point for rambles and cycle rides; a popular destination a couple of miles away is Old Winchester Hill, a nature reserve with an Iron Age Hill fort. Brocklands Farm is also very handy for the South Downs Way, for those who want to walk or pedal further afield.

The “Watercress Line” heritage railway, which runs from New Alresford to Alton, is another lovely way to explore the Hampshire countryside; or if you prefer to stay put, you could always park yourself in a picturesque spot at the Moorhen Trout Fishery up the road.

For a fulfilling day trip, wend your way to winsome Winchester: if you’re lucky, you may catch the famous choir in action within the splendour of the 900-year-old cathedral; other visitor attractions in this charming and compact city include a range of excellent museums, castle ruins, and an Arthurian round table, plus fab restaurants and independent shops.

Chi-chi Chichester is another pleasant place to while away a day, or you could head to Portsmouth to take a harbour tour and visit the historic dockyards, where HMS Victory and the Mary Rose are among the fascinating naval exhibits on display.

Liked: Nice, wide open space to park up, and relatively flat. This was a bonus as it was our first time out caravanning! Perfect site if you just want a place to relax without distractions. Easy walking distance to the village pub and shop even with two small children, and a very pleasant walk too, if you take the disused railway line that runs behind the site.
The campsite was very tidy and had just been ...

Disliked: Nothing!

Liked: Really enjoyed our stay at this farm. It was only our second trip with no hook up but it did not cause us any problems. We went for some lovely walks locally and had a wonderful coffee at the local store in West Meon. Had guests on Sat. eve for a BBQ, plenty of parking for them.
Met owner on Sun morning who had come round to collect our fees, very friendly lady.
We will ...

Disliked: Grass was a bit too long and as we had rain on Frid eve it was very wet when we woke up on Sat morn.
Bit more of a slope than we have had before.

Liked: This site is a basic green strip of land with minimal facilities so you must have your own toilet, etc.- there is a chemical disposal point. The owners were away during our stay but on entering the site, there were clear instructions as to where we could park and a friend of the owners was on hand if we had any problems. Perfect for walkers and it is the ideal spot to sit and relax ...

Disliked: Nothing!
