Leafy parkland, a seaside village and what we can only describe as blessed peace are all waiting for you here at Lytton Lawn Touring Park, set in eight acres of tranquillity a mile from Milford on Sea.
This is a Shorefield Holidays park, so is self-contained and with all the up to date amenities you’d expect for a 21st century getaway, but the site is set up to be quiet and has no gym, disco or swimming pool – perfect for peaceful contemplation under the trees. After you pack the kids off to the play area, natch…
Fear not though if the kids do get twitchy or you think you might fancy raising your energy level (within reason) after all – pitch fees at Lytton give you free entry to the club and leisure facilities at Shorefield Country Park two and a half miles away: take your pick from splashing around in the pool, steaming up in the sauna, lazing at the outdoor pool with heated children’s beach area, or just turning up for food, tipple or the nightly entertainment. Spoilt for choice? Go along to one of the regular events instead from cricket to walking on water in inflatable balls; there’s even the occasional Scaletrix Challenge for sulky teens.
Nearby attractions and activities
The first stop outside the park should be seaside village Milford on Sea for boat hire, beach walking, watersports and the all-essential ice cream: take a look from the beach for The Needles of the Isle of Wight or go east to the boat yard and bird sanctuary at Keyhaven. Historical types can also make their way by foot or ferry to Hurst Castle, built by Not So Good King Henry VIII to guard the Solent all those years ago.
The scenery around Lytton Lawn means there’s gallons of good sightseeing, cycling and walking, such as the bike trip to Lymington along the coastal cycle path, or all sorts of hikes and nature-spotting around the nearby New Forest. And it wouldn’t be a seaside holiday without taking in more beaches: there are striking sand dunes and a woodland nature trail at Sandbanks Beach, where you can also cross to the National Trust’s Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour.
Little piggies will just have to go to nearby Paultons Park to gawp at Peppa Pig World and they might also clamour for a day at Putlake Adventure Park or go wide-eyed at Liberty’s Owl and Raptor Centre; once you’ve earned your Brownie points at these you can trade off for some of the many grown-up attractions nearby: Christchurch Priory, Exbury Gardens and Beaulieu Motor Museum and Village should hit all the historical and cultural highs.
For city-hitting (and more beaches), Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch are all within driving distance, and anyone down in this corner of the world will be well rewarded with a ferry trip across to the eye-watering Isle of Wight.

Liked: Fantastic site and staff Disliked: Entrance into the site is not good for large motorhomes mine is a Burstner 747 Tag Axle and because of the over hanging trees and narrow lane I landed up with a few scrapes. |

Liked: Staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful. Very large and well maintained pitches. The location is absolutely fabulous, facing south with a view of the beautiful landscape, you can even see the Isle of Wight in the distance. There are not many visitors from abroad in this area, which was surprising to us because there is something for everyone to enjoy here. We bought a discount ticket for Beaulieu at the reception desk, definitely to ... Disliked: ... having to get out of the tent to go to the loo in the middle of the night in the pouring rain - but that is not anyone's fault ;-) |

Excellent site Jeremy C. (Family with older children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: Peaceful, attractive, well-organised site. Well-stocked shop. Shower block was above average too, clean on arrival and plenty of hot water. Dog friendly (we may bring ours next time) but they were never a nuisance, and the whole site was quiet by 11. Disliked: Staff could have been a bit more welcoming but they helped when needed. |
