Nearby attractions and activities

There’s scenic walking, mountain biking and horse riding along the Pennine Bridleway, which passes through the park, or strap on your boots to ramble along a section of the parallel Pennine Way.

The site is also brilliantly located for day trips. In less than an hour, visitors can get to the urban attractions of Manchester, Liverpool, York, Leeds, Bradford and Hull, head off to Blackpool for some rock and rollercoasters, or take in the bucolic splendour of the Lake District and Peak District.

Guests can also enjoy the lively and diverse calendar of events and festivals organised by the Saddleworth community. Depending when you come, you could find yourself taking in the duck races, vintage cars and craft fair at the summer show, on a charity beer walk, enjoying a brass band or folk festival, celebrating Yorkshire Day, taking part in a wartime reenactment, watching the Saddleworth Morris Men’s famous Rushcart procession, or sampling the region’s finest at a beer festival.

Liked: On arrival, we were welcomed by friendly faces. The site owner took us to the reception desk to check our booking, give us the keys to the pod and give us useful information regarding our stay.
The camping pods were beautiful, spacious, extremely clean and warm too!
We went on a gorgeous walk of the local area which tired us out ready for sleep. We slept amazingly and didn't want to leave!

We would ...

Disliked: That we didn't stay for longer!
