Ever wondered how the other half live? Come and swagger round Haggerston Castle Holiday Park, whose stately grounds include walled italianate gardens, leafy woodland, seven lakes and an elegant spa - all set in prime position on the serenely bonny Northumberland coast, close to Berwick-upon-Tweed.

Outdoorsy folk will enjoy tackling the challenging high ropes course and climbing wall, getting nine holes in on the golf course, boating on one of the lakes, or exploring the beauty of the surrounding area on horseback.

Haggerston Castle Holiday Park’s five-star facilities also include a smart and spacious indoor pool complex, all-weather bowling green, plus a myriad of sports and water sports options, from archery to water walkers.

There are the usual brilliant - and free - children’s clubs that you’d expect at a Haven site, good restaurant options, including the new lakeside Mash and Barrel lounge bar and café, and a lively schedule of evening shows, bands and dancing at the park’s two entertainment venues.

Nearby attractions and activities

If the weather is kind, there are gorgeous, uncrowded beaches nearby. Otherwise, for trips out and about, guests will find themselves spoiled for choice.

First up has to be a skip across the causeway to Holy Island, Lindisfarne, with its jaw-dropping priory and castle, just six miles from Haggerston Castle Holiday Park. Another of the country’s top views can be seen at neighbouring Bamburgh, whose majestic castle looms moodily from its craggy perch over the swathes of golden sand below. Finally, fans of the Harry Potter films will not want to miss a trip to Alnwick Castle, which stands in for Hogwarts, and also has interesting gardens to explore (check out the treehouse café...).

From the pretty fishing port of Seahouses, visitors can hop aboard one of the regular boat trips to the Farne Islands, to see the local colonies of seals and seabirds. For more domesticated creatures, hit the farm trail at Conundrum Farm, which also has indoor and outdoor play areas and a pedal tractor track.

Culture vultures can pick over the collections at Paxton House, which boasts magnificent Palladian architecture in a lovely setting beside the River Tweed, about ten miles from Haggerston Castle.

Visitors could even take a day trip to Edinburgh, one of the most visually attractive cities in the world, and crammed with history, culture and attractions, as well as superb shopping and eateries.

Liked: Welcoming Wardens
Site is nice with mature tress proving protection and privacy
Well paved roads

Disliked: British Summer ,most of touring pitches is water logged
Not enough playground for kids
Our hardstanding pitch is not level
Could do with and proper paved walkways to get into the water and waste site, a nighmare to walk when site is waterlogged
Boating lake is close and not well maintained
and far cry from what it used to be 3 years ago

Terms and conditions

Please read the park terms and conditions below and the Pitchup.com terms and conditions.

The holiday contract

A contract between you and Haven is made when Pitchup.com tells you your booking is confirmed.

The contract binds you and all the members of your party. It is your responsibility to ensure that all members of your party accept these terms and conditions of booking. Failure to disclose all relevant information or comply with these terms may lead to termination of the contract, and loss of the booking.

If you change your booking

Should you wish to make a change after your booking is confirmed, such as the type of accommodation, we will always try to meet your request. However, a charge of £10 per alteration will be payable. Substantial changes, such as a different location or dates, will be treated as a cancellation. Any changes which result in the holiday being cancelled within 8 weeks of the departure date will result in no refund being given. If you have purchased your own holiday cover then please liaise with your provider.

If we change or cancel your booking

As an experienced and responsible operator, our aim is to provide all the services, facilities and entertainment as described in our brochure and on our website. Should it be necessary for us to make any major changes to your booking, or in exceptional circumstances cancel your booking, we will endeavour to advise you, and provide the following options:

1. A replacement holiday comparable or superior to the one booked; or
2. A replacement holiday together with the difference in price between the replacement holiday and the holiday booked; or
3. A full refund.

In addition to the above and provided it does not arise from circumstances beyond our control, we will also pay you compensation for any provable loss. Should a sole use event be booked subsequent to your reservation, in the interest of your holiday enjoyment, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and provide you with an alternative as outlined in this section.

Paying for your holiday

Please note all holidays not paid in full by due dates are at risk of being cancelled. Please note if your holiday is cancelled through non-payment by yourselves then the terms in the conditions of booking do not apply.

Limitation of liability

We accept responsibility for those arrangements of your holiday which are within our control, but we cannot accept liability for any injury, loss or damage suffered by you or any other member of your party, unless one of the following applies:

1. There was wilful default by us, our employees or agents
2. Death or personal injury was caused by the negligence of Haven Holidays, our employees or agents.

For all claims other than death or personal injury which result from the non-performance or improper performance of our contract, we will pay compensation that is reasonable in all circumstances. However, our liability to you is limited to the total cost of the holiday amount paid as per your final holiday invoice from Haven Holidays. Please notify any shortcomings or complaints to the Reception/Duty Manager immediately, so that they can be remedied. Claims may be reduced or rejected if we have not been given the opportunity to put matters right or investigate your concerns.
