First time 'Podders' PHILIP P. (Mature couple, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: Very quite site, pods in pretty setting. Excellent little heater which we needed due to cold weather. Toilet block was clean and lovely to have a proper bathroom to yourself. (2 blocks were available). Previous reviews say take everything you take camping but the tent. We think you should then half it again as the pods are small and you may have to store things outside and in bad weather this is not good. They ... Disliked: Nothing to dislike. We had a problem when an alarm went off on a stored caravan and the site owners could not contact the van owner and so it went on for 2 days. On our last day, however, we were given a letter asking us to go back for 2 free nights. This goes to prove how fantastic this site is and that they look after their customers. |

Wooden Camping Pod for 1 night michael h. (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: Brilliant. Ideal for youg children as an introduction to camping. Pods are heated and have power. Location was great, a stones throw from york and its small hamlets. Disliked: Nothing |

Liked: Loved it. Warm and clean and as they say. Bring everything apart from the tent. Disliked: having to pay 20p for washing up water. IT ONLY AFFECTS CAMPERS. Caravans and motor homes have their own hot water. |

Liked: lovely campsite, really clean, friendly and very helpful staff, toilet block equiped with washer and drier, pod was megga warm Disliked: wasps around the picnic bench outside the pod, pod was a little cramped for the three of us
From the manager...
We are looking at getting a larger Pod - perhaps in time for your next visit. As for the wasps, well they fill a vital part in the round but if they are a v#nuisance again let us know and we'll hunt them down. |

The camping was ideal for my 7 year old grandson and myself. The site was very safe and he enjoyed the freedom, being able to explore and ride around on his bike and scooter. Ideally situated for days out in York and the surrounding area. Christine_C (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: The site is very well maintained and very clean and well organised. The shower rooms although a way from the pods are of a very high standard. Disliked: Nothing to dislike! |

Liked: staff were very friendly, the campsite was so quiet considering how busy it was, plenty of room for 4 of us to sleep comfortably with our bags but definately will be bringing an airbed next time. Also how nice to find a camp site with a bath! though we didnt try it this time. Will definately be back, also very well lit didnt even need a torch to find the toilets in the middle of ... Disliked: nothing at all, well maybe my friends waking me up snoring their heads off!
From the manager...
Thanks Emily, we look forward to welcoming you back. |

Very nice and clean and with friendly hosts Hanna P. (Young couple, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: We stayed in a pod which was perfect since the weather was everything but sunny! The pod was situated close to the shower block and with no neighbors at the back and with some green area in front. The shower block was clean and the toilets and showers were combined so you had a little room to yourself: perfect! There was even baths available! The area felt safe due to a coded gate. Disliked: The sheep not getting out of the way as we left early in the morning : )
From the manager...
Thank you for the feedback. The sheep can be stubborn but usually move if talked to sternly. |

Great weekend had in one of their camping pods Richard W. (With friends, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: Site was quiet (despite train line close by) and the showers and wash room facillities were clean and of a high standard. The summer house over looking the cricket ground was a bonus too! Disliked: Nothing obvious springs to mind

Liked: It was amazing - we always like to have a Fathers's day family camping trip but as the weather forecast was poor we booked a few days before for our 1st time in a pod. We took all the usual camping gear and arrived early evening. The pod was ample for myself, husband and 2 teenagers to sit in but we put the camping chairs away to put the airbeds in and then it was ... Disliked: erm..........
From the manager...
Thanks for these comments. We try to keep the place up to scratch and your feedback is great encouragement to know that we are getting it right. I am sorry that we can move the toilet block closer. |

Highly recommended friendly, clean site & pod Nicola B. (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: Very friendly welcome. Disliked: The British weather - although the pod made it a good holiday (lets just say the weather was too poor for us to go proper camping!) |
Facebook Twitter Google Plus |
Liked: This was our 1st time in a pod - we took everything we would take camping apart from the tent. Having a 12 and 15 year old meant room was minimal when the airbeds were inflated but during the evening we had plenty room for 4 chairs to sit comfortably. The toilets/showers were excellent and cleaned regularly. We ate out at a pub nearby and went to York for the day. Even though it was ... Disliked: The fact that a tent will never be good enough again!! |

Well run site in good location. Maureen M. (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: Well designed, neat, tidy and well run site. Good location about 15 or 20 minutes drive from York, most of which was on a major road. The site felt safe and welcoming and the facilities were spotlessley clean and easy to use. Disliked: There were signs saying no ball games in the camp site area. I appreciate if you haven't got kids this is a good thing but for me it would have been nice to chill outside the camping pod while my little boy had a run around with a football.
From the manager...
Thanks for this feedback. We are looking at getting a larger pod for next year. I think that we'll be reviewing the ball games for next season too although it is sometimes hard to balance the desires of everyone. |

A very picturesque, clean, tidy and quiet site. Keith M. (Family with older children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: The site layout was good and also it's location next to the village (bus into York only takes 30 mins). The washing facilities were extremely good. Free showers and full washing & drying machines available. Disliked: We didn't dislike anything about this site.
From the manager...
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. |

Loved the Pod :) Anonymous User (Family with older children, 1 review, 0 photos)
Liked: The Pod was great. Very cosy and warm at night. The facilities on site were very clean and never busy. The site was also very near to York where there was a Park and Ride facility. I would most definately stay here again. Disliked: The only thing I was expecting was the social club to be open but as I was there mid-week this was not the case as only open at weekends. |
