Picture yourself in a quintessentially English scene, basking with a drink to the pleasing thunk of leather hitting willow as you gaze out over the village cricket green, followed by a relaxing stroll through glorious sun-dappled woods and water meadows bursting with wild flowers...
At the Alders Caravan Park, the smart, comfy camping pods are set on a working farm surrounded by idyllic countryside, ideal for woodland walks and wildlife-spotting. This serene, roomy park has excellent facilities and its own small shop, and it’s a mere stroll to other commerces, a restaurant, tennis courts and a children’s playground in the comely village of Alne, in the heart of the Vale of York.

First time 'Podders' PHILIP P. (Mature couple, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: Very quite site, pods in pretty setting. Excellent little heater which we needed due to cold weather. Toilet block was clean and lovely to have a proper bathroom to yourself. (2 blocks were available). Previous reviews say take everything you take camping but the tent. We think you should then half it again as the pods are small and you may have to store things outside and in bad weather this is not good. They ... Disliked: Nothing to dislike. We had a problem when an alarm went off on a stored caravan and the site owners could not contact the van owner and so it went on for 2 days. On our last day, however, we were given a letter asking us to go back for 2 free nights. This goes to prove how fantastic this site is and that they look after their customers. |

Liked: Loved it. Warm and clean and as they say. Bring everything apart from the tent. Disliked: having to pay 20p for washing up water. IT ONLY AFFECTS CAMPERS. Caravans and motor homes have their own hot water. |

From the manager...
We are looking at getting a larger Pod - perhaps in time for your next visit. As for the wasps, well they fill a vital part in the round but if they are a v#nuisance again let us know and we'll hunt them down. |

The camping was ideal for my 7 year old grandson and myself. The site was very safe and he enjoyed the freedom, being able to explore and ride around on his bike and scooter. Ideally situated for days out in York and the surrounding area. Christine_C (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: The site is very well maintained and very clean and well organised. The shower rooms although a way from the pods are of a very high standard. Disliked: Nothing to dislike! |
