Akebar Park

8.3 Favourite
From £30 (for 2 nights, 2 adults)   Why not enter some details and get an accurate price?

A large family run park established for over 35 years, Akebar Park lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. As well as our touring park we offer two golf courses: a challenging 18-hole championship course, and also a par 3 course, fantastic for beginners and juniors.

At the top of the park is our very own Friars Head restaurant and pub, which serves delicious a-la-carte evening meals as well as tasty lunchtime bar meals. And if you're not feeling hungry, why not sample one of our fine local hand-pulled ales?

We hope to see you in the future.

Quiet site with clean facilities but some disappointing aspects

Liked: I liked the cleanliness of the park no rubbish at all around, the areas kept clean and tidy including the facilities - toilets/showers and laundry/wash area. The people staying there were quiet and respectful of others.

Disliked: The only place close enough to walk to for a meal/drink was the pub at the entrance to the camp-site. On our first night at the site we walked up to the pub to order some food for our young son, staff were unfriendly and abrupt to us about the time food is served and that they were fully booked the restaurant area was not child friendly we were made to feel very unwelcome ...

Liked: Nice flat pitches for tents, we pitched up near the stream where the kids had great fun getting wet and dirty. We were also near the smaller shower and toilet block so we did not have far to go to use the facilities which hardly anyone else used.

Loved the recreation area, loads of space for football, frisbee etc.

There was not noise at night , apart from the stream and the birds singing from 4am ...

Disliked: Nothing

Liked: The location was good, only 5 miles from Leyburn and 2 miles from a wonderful little pub, the Wyville Arms. Showers and toilets were clean, and water in shower was nice and hot.
Pitches were nice and lots of space, even on a bank holiday.
Location and scenery is amazing. Had a lovely time.

Disliked: We couldn't visit the pub onsite as it didnt accept dogs, so I can't say what it was like.
Also, the lights weren't on in the toilets on one of the evenings, which was a pain.
There weren't any plug sockets or anywhere to dry your hair after a shower. They also couldn't find my booking.

Liked: The park is very large, and with it been september we had a wide variety of pitch choice, we pitched next to the stream which runs through the park.

The on site restaurant is very friendly and cosy, we went every night for a drink and ate their once.

The Golf course is very enjoyable, although I played very badly!

Peaceful at night, with only the sound of wildlife.

overall very enjoyable experience, the staff ...

Disliked: Nothing bad to say.
