See all facilities…Don’t forget your sandles (sic) - mere minutes from your crib you’ll find a golden beach, so prepare to get those toes a-wiggling...
Direct private access to the beach is only the beginning: Sand-le-Mere Caravan & Leisure Park offers guests a great range of activities too. For starters, there’s a lovely outdoor pool (heated), children’s pool and hot tub; as well as a gym, crazy golf, trampolines, ten pin bowling and an adventure playground. The Mermaid clubhouse has a bar and diner, plus takeaway food, and lays on cabaret entertainment and bingo. Last but not least, there’s the fishing: fresh water fun in the well-stocked lake, or sea fishing from the beach.
With so much to do here, many visitors stay put, but those who do want to venture further afield will be spoiled for choice.
Nearby attractions and activities
York’s many attractions cater to all tastes: history hounds, culture vultures, wannabe vikings, shopaholics, and train- and plane- spotters. Scale the soaring heights of the Minster, plough the gory depths of the dungeons, or lose all sense of direction in the massive York Maze...
Another place with a towering Minster is bijou Beverley, where guests will find lots of ancient pubs, a traditional high street and great markets; the town also hosts various festivals throughout the year.
Hull is well worth a visit too, for its fantastic aquarium, transport and maritime museums, Ferens Art Gallery, and William Wilberforce House. Visitors can also go messing around on various boats, including the Spurn Lightship, and then there’s the ice rink, great shopping, theatres and more.
Another recommendation is to work your way along the Yorkshire coastline, to sample the spooky drama of Whitby Abbey, the classic seaside attractions of Scarborough, and the bonzer beaches at Bridlington and Hornsea.
For history buffs, the main problem will be deciding where to head first: the Napoleonic fortress of Fort Paull, the rare inland lighthouse at Withernsea, the Elizabethan splendour of Burton Agnes Hall, or the Cold War bunkers at RAF Holpmton. Not forgetting the congregation of beautiful ruined abbeys (Henry VIII’s handiwork) in the local countryside - the big three to see are Rievaulx, Bolton and Fountains.
Nature lovers can make for the huge white cliffs of Flamborough Head, home to thousands of nesting sea birds; other options for ornithologists include the North Cave Wetlands, or Spurn Point.
For a treat for the kids, you could try Flamingo Land theme park, get out the wellies for a trip to Honeysuckle Farm in Hornsea, or let them Go Ape in the treetops in Dalby Forest.
The area is peppered with golf courses and equestrian centres - for something a bit different, guests can book in for a beginner’s polo lesson at Beverley Polo Club. Hornsea Mere offers sailing, rowing, fishing and boat tours. For those who prefer to watch: take in a footie or rugby match in Hull. Feeling lucky? There’s racing at York and Beverley.

lovely place for all ages Rebecca F. (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: There was lots for the kids to do and even if you don't want to spend lots of money the beach is a 5 min walk down the park (where we had a lovely time), the staff were very friendly and helpful and i would recommend to other people Disliked: The service was a bit slow but they always made up for it with a smile and the toilets got a bit grubby by the end of our stay (good job i tooktook my own loo roll) but over all not much to moan about.
From the manager...

Park generally good, just needs a few finishing touches ! sharon b. (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: Facilities were generally good, pool is great and suitable for children as not too deep throughout the pool! Sauna and steam room also included in the price, as was the electric for your tent! Tent pitches are close to amenities such as the pool, shop and club house. Disliked: The toilets for the tent pitches haven't been built yet (due to be built by July 2013) so the available toilets were further away and as there was only a few not kept as clean as you would like! Hopefully this will be resolved with the new toilet facilities. |

Great campsite with excellent facilities David B. (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: All facilities were of a high standard. The pool area was clean and well maintained and the special events that were put on for the children were very good. Disliked: Not a very big complaint, but the restaurant/bar could be open earlier for breakfast. |

Liked: The facilities were great, the kids loved the pool and the park. The food in the restaurant was very reasonably priced and tasted great too, although sometimes the chef did not prepare the meal to the description on the menu but once we told the staff this was soon rectified. Disliked: Only 3 showers in he toilet block which didn't have much pressure, the water was very hot but only trickled out. There was supposed to be a shower block on the tent field but this was not yet built. |

Liked: i would like to add what a good site this was lovely clean toilets and showers but ran out of toilet but we always take our own, enjoyed the new complex which includes swimming pool kids splash area, sauna, gym steam room, cafe bars take out , great entertainment on a night, sky sports etc if you dont want to part take in the shows, a range of fruit machines and games for the kids. Disliked: Only grip i have was the bar where i ordered drink and depending on who you got depended on what you got charged |

Liked: This place is a little hidden gem perfect for a break out off the way secluded little beach in a cove Disliked: Some familys letting kids run out of control hanging around toilet shower block |
Facebook Twitter Google Plus |
Liked: Main complex, swimming pool, sauna, and steam room were first class, friendly staff, entertainment on an evening, adequate space on camping field, even though booked late still could get electric hook up facility. Disliked: Don't like to moan but the toilet and shower facilities were apauling in comparison to other campsites we have stayed at. A portaloo (small) building is not the best site to greet you on arrival. three toilets, three sinks and three showers in male and female buildings, not enough for the size of the site. Privacy for washing and brushing teeth etc, forget it. Three people were brushing teeth etc, there was no where ... |
