This is a beautiful quiet yurt site with 4 yurts and a bell tent, situated in rolling Suffolk countryside close to the popular seaside towns of Southwold and Walberswick as well as the market towns of Bungay and Beccles in the Waveney Valley. We have a newly restored barn with table tennis, table football, easy chairs, sofa, books, games and brand new showers and toilets. Fantastic "woodland shower" for two as well as new safari kitchen with two gas hobs for cooking when the weather's not so great. The yurts themselves are beautifully furnished and equipped and sit in a two and a half acre meadow with ox-eye daisies, buttercups and long grass. You can pick your own seasonal fruit and veg from beds in the field, including strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, new potatoes, asparagus, broad beans, red onions and shallots. Bikes are available for guests to borrow and we can meet you from the local train station (on the London to Lowestoft line) and offer a discount for those arriving by public transport or on bike/foot. Everything you are ever likely to need is provided for you - all duvets, pillows, throws etc as well as extensive cooking equipment, cafetiere, crockery, cutlery, glasses and much, much more. We've even added a "milk frother" thanks to guest feedback!

Nearby attractions and activities

Situated on National Cycle Route 1, this is a great base to explore the quiet lanes by bike or on foot. Great for wild swimming at the nearby beaches or river Waveney, great local pubs, including St Peter's Brewery in the nearby "Saints" group of villages, The Locks Inn (great cider!) and the Queens Head at Blyford and at Bramfield for great food. And of course there's Adnams in Southwold and a couple of micro-breweries if you fancy a tour or a pint. Good canoeing is available locally as well as day trips on Big Dog Ferry and day hire boats on the southern Broads. Good restaurants and food shops and artisan producers. See our extensive "Things to do" section on the website for lots to whet your appetite! Or you can do what many of our guests delight in; sit on your decking watching the clouds go by and enjoying the birdsong and sunshine, perhaps with a stroll into the village to pick up some of Tony's best bacon for breakfast the next day, followed by a pint or two at the pub. Each to his or her own!
