Park Farm Camping
FavouriteHidden away in lush meadows surrounding Park Farm, a working farm in the beautiful Norfolk countryside, the campsite offers a safe and peaceful base from which to explore the city of Norwich, north Norfolk and beyond.
Partially sheltered with large, level grass pitches, the picturesque site is ideal for tents and touring caravans alike. With relaxation a priority at Park Farm Camping, the site has a friendly atmosphere and the seclusion away from major roads makes it ideal for families.
The campsite is simple and no frills but has modern facilities, masses of space and allows campfires. Creature comforts include electric hook-ups, a heated shower and toilet block (with free hairdryers in the ladies' block), laundry and public telephone, and dogs are welcome.
For families this is an excellent venue, with a huge amount of space even in the summer - great for kids to enjoy a game of football or to play. There is a swing and small wood to explore too. Get away from it all...
Nearby attractions and activities
Nearby you’ll find on-farm trails and quiet byways in the Wensum Valley - perfect for walking and cycling. There is also free fishing on the two miles of river flowing through nearby Castle Farm (note: closed for season from 16th Mar-16th June, when fishing will not be available).
In the nearby village there is an excellent pub, deli, butchers and small grocers. The area also enjoys many footpaths and quiet lanes which offer enjoyable routes for walking or cycling around the Wensum valley. The village of Swanton Morley, a picture postcard Norfolk village that exudes history and character, is only a mile away. Here you'll find a village shop that sells newspapers and general groceries, a butchers and delicatessen, a bakery, post office and garage services.
Park Farm's central Norfolk location makes this campsite a great base for visiting many of Norfolk's top attractions. The amazing coastline is only about 30 minutes away - choose a different beach each day and experience the huge variety, including seals, sand, dunes, spits and salt marshes. The Norfolk Coast has it all. Also within easy reach is Norwich, one of the best cities in the country for shopping and packed with history and sights. The Broads and Sandringham are not too far either.
You'll find plenty to do in the area around Park Farm Camping, from stately homes and fabulous places to walk and cycle to boutique shopping and a coastline made famous by Hollywood. Whether you've come to watch the Norfolk wildlife or sample our wonderful local produce at one of the County's amazing eateries, the only problem will be fitting it all in!
The city of Norwich is about 16 miles/25 minutes' drive away. Highlights include:
If you're looking for history and culture, check out the Norman cathedral, the Castle Museum or the Sainsbury Centre. The magical 'Plantation Garden' is an attraction few manage to stumble upon...
If you want to shop - check out the two malls or explore the Norwich lanes with their mix of eclectic boutiques and independent shops. Don't forget to visit the Royal Arcade, a marvel of art nouveau filled with gorgeous shops.
For fabulous food and drink, try any of the Animal inns or Raffles restaurants, The Lawyer or The Wine Cellar.
Mid Norfolk (Dereham, Swaffham, Fakenham, The Brecks and environs):
Founded in the seventh century, Dereham (just a short drive away) has a wealth of shops, cafés and pubs, as well as a nice leisure centre with pool. Parking in Dereham is mostly free, a novelty these days.
Pensthorpe - A multi-award-winning attraction for the whole family.
BeWilderwood - One for adventurous kids aged 4-94.
Fakenham Racecourse
North Norfolk (roughly 30 minutes' drive northwards).
For shopping and lunching, you won't go far wrong with the shamelessly posh Burnham Market and lovely Wells-next-the-Sea.
Stately homes don't come much grander than Holkham Hall. Adjacent to the estate, you'll discover Holkham Beach. Featured in the closing scenes of Shakespeare in Love, it is breathtaking in its unspoilt beauty.
Other places worth a look include Little Walsingham (famed for its shrine), Holt a lovely Georgian market town), Blakeney (with seal trips out to Blakeney Point), Burnham Thorpe (birthplace of Lord Nelson) and Cley-next-the-Sea (located in an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty).
Brochures and leaflets on all these and many other visitor attractions are available from reception.

Liked: I cannot recommend Park Farm campsite highly enough. We stayed there for my husbands 40th birthday and had a big group of friends with us. The manager Derek and his assistant couldn't have been more accommodating. The family bathroom is excellant, the 3 of us could get showered together. Disliked: Nothing |
