General

  • Remote naturist site in deepest Shropshire, family-run since 1963
  • Woods, cliffs, crags and caves of Hawkstone Park Follies nearby
  • Outdoor pool and covered hot tub

Who needs clothes anyway? Cast off your clobber and have a stay at this properly peaceful naturist site in deepest Shropshire to get back to life just as Mother Nature so intended. Set well away from the main drag down a mile-long country lane, surrounded by grazing fields for cattle, sheep and horses edged by hedgerows filled with wildlife, Wrekin View is a haven for those who prefer their bod to remain unadorned while they take a well-earned break among spectacularly natural surroundings.

Since 1963 Wrekin View Naturist Club has been welcoming naturist families to its five-acre site in this quiet, rural and remote corner of Shropshire; surrounded by nothing but hills and natural boundaries, you're a handy 14 miles from Telford should you ever wish to enter back into civilisation while you're there.

There's a smashing relaxation area with an outdoor pool and hot tub for dips, and over at the cottage there's heaps of comfy seating for southward views and sunbathing. More basking is done over on the cottage lawn, where huge benches that face each other facilitate social time – more of which can be had at the site's twice-daily complementary tea and coffee meetups.

Strolls through the woods are another highly recommended relaxing pursuit around here – tall trees provide shade to a mixture of ferns, uncut grass, bluebells and other seasonal wildflowers, and the several picnic tables that lie dotted around provide peaceful resting places and treat-scoffing spots.

For a bit of gentle activity en plein air, the miniature tennis and boules court are a top spot, and there's also a ping pong table here for everyone to use.

Each of this site's roomy pitches is grassy and level with a hedge behind and a grassy space in front. The natural water comes from the site's own certified bore hole, which you can collect from various stand pipes around the park. The guest kitchen in the cottage is fully kitted out with a double sink, ample worktop space, three fridges, a full-size gas catering oven, a microwave, kettles and a small dining table.

Everything!! This having been our first visit to a naturist site we were rather apprehensive as what to expect. They couldn’t have been more welcoming. If you’ve never been then this is an excellent place to go and try it out! We both very quickly embraced the whole concept and shall definitely return!!

Wrekin View is like a little piece of paradise. Very secluded, safe and beautiful. As first time naturists we soon settled into our surroundings and felt comfortable being naked.

Wonderful site with very friendly members. From the welcome we received from Steve, to the celebration of Etty and Hubby's 40th Wedding Anniversary to which everyone on site was invited. We had a very enjoyable, memorable stay. We will be back x

People friendly and welcoming, scenery magnificent. It was so good just to shed our clothes and be in such a beautiful environment with like minded people.
The weather in the valley was very kind to us with an excellent amount of sunshine even with the thunderstorms.
Would recommend to any naturist wanting to get back to nature.
The members work very hard maintaining their excellent facilities and grounds.
    Thank you all.

Charming site in a secluded position.
Friendly and welcoming proprietor and club members.
Brand new toilet and shower blocks, sparkling clean.
    Well maintained hot tub.
Free tea or coffee, and biscuits.
    Nice level pitch.

    Disliked:

No dislikes, but a few points to bear in mind:
Site does not accept card payments, but allowed us to pay by PayPal.
We were lucky with the weather, but had it been raining I’m not sure our 7 metre motorhome would have made it up the fairly steep grassy slope to the touring pitches at the top.
Electricity is limited to 6 amps.

Amazing, idyllic site with spotless facilities & friendly members 20/05/2018

The location was idyllic an absolute gem of a site, the members were all very welcoming without being intrusive. As first timers it took a little courage, but by day two we were comfortably chatting away and enjoying an afternoon tea of sandwiches and scones with the group in the sunshine, after watching the royal wedding. No awkwardness, spotless facilities. Only downside was the very cold pool, but hopefully some heating will be sorted out at some point so we would be able to use it next time.
Cannot recommend this place highly enough and cannot wait to return again soon!

Local attractions

Wrekin View Naturist Club might well be remote but it's certainly not isolated: to the south is the historic hotspot of Shrewsbury, birthplace of Charles Darwin, and to the north lies Whitchurch, home of the world renowned clockmaker J.B. Joyce. A journey east will take you to the town of Market Drayton, or travel west and you'll reach the historic town of Wemwill.

Over at Hawkstone Park Follies is an enchanted woodland filled with cliffs, crags, caves, deep woods and a series of historic monuments for scenic walks and bike rides, and archery lessons, donkey rides and a petting zoo are available there too. For more animal-themed adventure, visit West Midlands Safari Park, around 70 minutes' drive from the site.

History buffs can visit the 19th-century citadel at Weston-under-Redcastle or the 11th-century castle over at Moreton Corbet, and there's enough there to fill days upon days of sightseeing around the 10 museums and 35 historic sites of the vast Ironbridge Gorge Museum, around half an hour's drive away. Bridgnorth Cliff Railway – a Victorian funicular that connects the upper and lower parts of the town – is a 45-minute drive from Wrekin View.
