Delightful Shepherd's Hut with Tipi at the Millstream Camp in the grounds of Lower Buckton Country House, near Leintwardine on the borders of north Herefordshire and south Shropshire where England meets Wales. There are fabulous views, stunning scenery, riverside walks, country lanes & woodland
A perfect pitch for two plus you dog and even your horse! Top level glamping in restored shepherd's hut with the tipi nearby and all you'll need for self-catering under the stars. All situated beside an ancient millstream which was mentioned in the Doomsday Book. Sleep upon luscious linen beneath a sheepswool Baavet on a 5' wide x 6' long double bed with luxurious sheepswool topper. A blissful night's sleep!
The hut oh so cosy with its vintage enameled wood burning stove on which to quick boil the kettle and keep you snug.
Outside in your own designated personal campsite area is the traditional tipi, handmade in Herefordshire using ash poles from sustainable woodlands. In here are two day beds for warm weather and storage space for all your gear. There's even a wind-up record player for 78s! We just love the pleasing shape of the tipi and how it sits in the landscape.
There is cold running water, piped straight from a private spring. It is delicious to drink, so don't bring nasty bottled stuff! Beside the babbling brook, in a series of corrugated-roofed shelters are the water tower with solar panel for warm water on a good day, the Calor-heated outdoor shower with eco body & hair products and the bbq area which has loads of cooking pots and utensils which can also be used on the open fir-pit which lies between the hut and tipi.
The piece de resistance is the "hot tub". A Victorian cast iron bath has been raised on blocks to enable a fire to be lit beneath. Just full with water from the tap and light the fire. Wait awhile for the water to reach the desired temperature and for flames and smoke to die down then light some candles, get yourself a drink and immerse yourself in the deep warm water - preferably when the stars are out!
