See all facilities…If your nerves are in tatters after trying out the adrenaline sports, hall you need to do is simmer down in the gorgeous lakeside spa...
The upmarket Tattershall Lakes Country Park offers camping with bells on, with service and facilities to rival those of a top class country hotel.
Adventurous types, listen up: there’s a dedicated lake for jet skis, another for waterskiing and wakeboarding - complete with slalom and jumps - plus a daily programme of ‘My Active’ sessions featuring everything from geocaching (high tech treasure hunts) to zorbing. Stage your own sea battle using the water cannons on board the electric boats for hire, or splash around on a pedalo. Still not soaked enough? Jump on the ringo and banana rides...
Guests can take it down a few notches with a stroll around the velvety greens of the 18-hole golf course, a tranquil kayak lake safari, or a bit of fishing (there are three well-stocked lakes to choose from). Or float off completely with a relaxing beauty treatment and a bubble in one of the lakeview hot tubs at the luxurious indoor pool and spa complex, which also houses the park’s gym.
The kids can try out panning for gold, puppet making, bubbleology or even cheerleading school as part of the well-organised programme of children’s activities. Take them rambling or pedalling along the nature trails that meander through the 325 acres of parkland, or just leave them to rampage around the slides, turrets and chain bridges in the play areas.
Visitors can spend a soothing evening taking in the view from the lakeside bar, or, for something more lively, there are party dances, karaoke and bingo, plus cabaret nights at the weekend. On summer Sundays, guests are invited to plonk down a blanket on the lawn overlooking the bay for a firelit outdoor cinema screening, complete with barbeque nosh, popcorn and free marshmallow toasting.
Nearby attractions and activities
There’s plenty to see in nearby Tattershall, including the fifteenth century tower and moat of Tattershall Castle, Tom Thumb’s tiny house and grave, and the paintings and pottery on display in the former railway station. The children might enjoy tearing up the track at Tattershall Karting Centre, or meeting some furry friends at the Farm Park.
Other good places for animal lovers are the slightly more distant Rand Farm Park, and the seal and nature sanctuary in the coastal town of Skegness (which also offers rollercoasters, candyfloss and lots more old school seaside fun).
Young guns can watch the Typhoons and Tornados in action around RAF Coningsbury before a trip to see the Lancaster bombers at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre.
The Edwardian resort of Woodhall Spa is also worth a trip for its heated outdoor pool, museum and famous old-fashioned cinema in the woods. English Heritage properties nearby include the atmospheric ruins of Bolingbroke Castle, and Sibsey Trader Windmill, a beautifully restored six-storey mill, where the cakes in the tea room are made from home-ground flour.
Further cultural and architectural fixes are available in Lincoln, with its iconic Gothic cathedral, medieval castle, galleries and museums.

Spent the Easter weekend at the lovely Tattershall Lakes Country Park. SADIE A. (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: We enjoyed the weather, the sun was shining, and although the wind was chilly, we wrapped up warm and enjoyed walking around the Lakes and site. We enjoyed the Easter Egg Hunt up Tattershall Castle, the views from the top fantastic, could pick out Lincoln Cathedral and Boston Stump. The children enjoyed playing on the wooden children's play area, a stone throw away from our pitch. We visited Woodhall Spa, and although not intended ... Disliked: The break was enjoyable, however on arrival, Pitchup.com, who we booked the break through, had failed to inform Tattershall Lakes of our booking, so we had to sort a pitch out, which took over an hour. The site was fully booked, but we managed to squeeze in. |
