See all facilities…We’re trying to think of who Orchard View Caravan & Camping Park would be most perfect for, but we suspect we’ll run out of space… Those who like the sound of silence: this is a serene and peaceful park away from noisy A roads. Scenic sorts: the park is nestled in the heart of the fens, with waterways to explore nearby. Foodie types: the fenland villages have all sorts of tasty treats to try – fresh farm produce, rated restaurants, tea rooms, fresh fruit from roadside stalls and Lincolnshire sausages made in nearby market town Spalding. Fido: the park is dog-friendly and has a huge (and safe) dog walking field with lots to sniff at. And the little saplings: there’s a kids’ club, new play area with swings and sandpit, and a special space in the clubhouse with board games and puzzles.
It’s also a park for those who like space and convenience as it’s on a six acre level site, and for folk who like a bit of a personal touch: owners Ray and Maria are lauded for being two of the friendliest and most helpful campsite people around, as anyone who’s ever had trouble putting up their awning can testify. Maria is even known to sing a little during the evening entertainment if you ask nicely…
Amenities here are bang up to date, such as the brand new shower block with free hot showers. There’s info galore on what to do in the local area in the tourist information cabin and in the bar – or you could just ask Ray and Maria what they recommend (the local Chinese restaurant, for one).
Nearby attractions and activities
You’ll need to be active to work off all those Lincolnshire sausages, so take to the unexplored fens on Orchard View’s doorstep for cycling, riverside rambling and horse-riding; aim for the skies with some clay pigeon shooting or get swinging at one of the five local golf courses. If you’re still a bit full up, some birdwatching or fishing for carp at the nearby lakes should be a more gentle way to spend the day.
Strolling around the shops is also a less strenuous way to work off the calories: Spalding has bargains galore in the Springfield Shopping Outlet and the Springfield Festival Gardens to relax in and gloat over your purchases after a morning spent ringing the tills.
The market town of Boston is also recommended for savvy shoppers, and if you’re feeling a bit guilty about maxing out the credit cards (we hear this happens to some people occasionally), you can soothe your conscience by taking in historical Boston before loading yourself down with shopping bags: try the Boston Guild Hall and the museum at the Maud Foster Tower Windmill, or move along to Crowland to see the 14th century three-sided bridge and the medieval Croyland Abbey. There’s also the historic port of King’s Lynn, the castle and museums of Georgian town Wisbech and the stone town of Stamford all within easy exploring reach.
A scenic drive will take you to the towns of Hunstanton and Sandringham, but you can’t come to this part of Lincolnshire without also seeing seaside town Skeggy. It’s not just the seaside, the donkey rides and the funfair: the Natureland Seal Sanctuary at Skegness too – and has tarantulas – and the Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve is also well worth a look.
Once the kids have recovered from their hair-raising tarantula experience, soothe them with a trip to Fantasy Island up the coast at Ingoldmells. Where, coincidentally enough, there’ll be a chance to go shopping again: with hundreds of stalls, the Eastgate Market is the biggest indoor seven day market in Europe…

Liked: Lovely pitches plenty of room, Ray and Ria were very helpful. The boys loved the freedom and the little dens that they found in the back field. Great dog walking area with bins. Nice little club on site was only opened twice while we were there but did go in to watch the football and it seemed to have a nice atmosphere. Any problems you have on the site if you report it, they are ... Disliked: Shower was a bit hot and cold mainly cold but if you managed to get it just right it was great, shame only one shower worked but this didn't spoil anything. Toilets cubicles are nice just could do with better flushing, bit embarrassing when the loos flush but don't take anything away not your fault though the flush seemed to be there but no suction. But if you report the toilets being blocked ... |

Max. persons: 10x
On arrival at the park all customers(at least one from each party) are shown at booking in, the 2 toilet and shower blocks, all facilities and the time of opening the bar(also on a notice board next to the clubhouse)
We ask customers to let us know of any problems, and how to contact us if we are not visible on the park.
The toilet block position to the camping field is as a result of the inherited local planning office permission and as RosiesRamblers stated it wasn't that far to walk.
The proximity of toilets to the clubhouse is not a problem for small children as the clubhouse is not open until 8pm, and as we are a child friendly park, and our licence dictates the compulsory child protection issues, most parents would not let small children go unaccompanied to the toilet after 8pm
We do have adequate toilet and shower facilities for the size of park.
These are located in the 2 toilet and shower blocks.
Unfortunately as we had a very dry weekend,(good for some),but due to low water pressure beyond our control(?Local farmers filling up ready to irrigate the very dry ground) the showers were not up to their usual standard for 1 day over the weekend.
This dryness was also a contributing factor to the children's play equipment having some movement due to the drying out of the ground. The slide had been broken by an enthusiastic user and once pointed out by a very helpful father it was repaired as well as we were able at a bank holiday, and is now undergoing a revamp.
For Legal reasons we have to record the names of all visitors, adults, children and dogs and we still have not found a 'Rosie' for this weekend on any of our booking forms so the reviewer remains unknown.
