Long Acres Touring Park

From £23 (for 1 night, 2 adults)   Why not enter some details and get an accurate price?

It’s adults only - and sure-fire serenity - at this neat little park in pastoral south Lincolnshire, which opens between March and October. The well-maintained pitches at Long Acres Touring Park for caravans, motorhomes and tents all have electric hook-ups, and provide a mix of hardstanding and grass.

With very modern facilities (the site has only been open since 2008), cosy and clean ablutions are guaranteed, and there are separate amenities for disabled guests. Aside from a bit of birdwatching, boules and other gentle outdoor games, there’s not a huge amount to do on site, but that’s kind of the point - and guests will find plenty to explore in the surrounding area.

Nearby attractions and activities

Aside from the local shops and pubs, there are food and craft markets pretty much every day of the week, with the largest to be found in the pleasant market town of Boston, which also boasts some good restaurants, an impressive church and the country’s largest working windmill. The tranquil town of Spalding has a pretty waterfront and good shopping, and the historic city of Lincoln, with its breathtaking cathedral, is well worth a visit. There’s also an interesting aviation museum in nearby East Kirkby, where an incredibly rare Avro Lancaster Bomber can be found among the military planes and vehicles on display.

For those who fancy a trip to the coast, the many attractions of bracing Skegness are an easy ride away, with the unspoilt dunes and marshes of the Gibralter Point nature reserve just to the south of the bustling seaside resort. Visitors can also see some amazing natural spectacles at the famous RSPB sanctuaries of Freiston Shore and Frampton Marsh, home to thousands of wading birds.

There’s excellent angling in the many river and drainage channels that crisscross the fen, and the flat countryside and traffic-free roads make for great cycling, too - Long Acres’ owners have written up several interesting routes to help guests make the most of the wide open spaces around and about. The Snipe Dales Nature Reserve, ten miles away, is a good option for walkers.

Liked: the site was very clean and had plenty of space between the pitches. The owners were very helpful and ensured that you was alright.

Disliked: location too remote for us would have liked to have been in walking distance to a village where there was a shop and pub, but unfortunately it was just too far to walk.

All that glisters is not gold

Liked: The location, quiet and peaceful. The toilet facilities are very clean.
Very pretty looking site at first glance.

Disliked: Pitches are too small.
Lack of knowledge of the owners regarding the numbering of the actual pitches, even though there are only forty. The attitude of the owner to certain people, for example blaming them for putting tents up on wrong pitch and inviting some people to Jubilee party and not others.
Facilities for example taps and waste disposal points need to be increased especially if staying at the far end as we were.

From the manager...

I am sorry that you were disappointed with your visit to Long Acres. Your stay here was just a few weeks before we took over as new owners, so I can not comment specifically about your experience, but can assure you that Tracey and I value all customer comments and will do everything possible to ensure our visitors have a great time.
Based on customer feedback, we have already added a dog exercise area and will be looking at taps in the future.
The pitches are all different sizes, so understanding our customers setup prior to arrival is important to ensuring an enjoyable stay.
I hope this helps to remind you of the nice things about the site and maybe we will see you in the future.
Regards
John
