Ok... but have a few minor gripes.. JaneWithers (Family with young children, 1 review, 0 photos)
Liked: The area and things to do ..... it was safe for the children,you can take dogs.... Disliked: The lack of showers and toilets... there are not enough toilets for the amount of campers when it is fully booked.. also half the ladies loos in the middle block clogged up and became unusable every day... it is a huge campsite and ten showers is no where near enough per (ten each for men and women) ... it would be better to have more and keep some closed in low season... |

Directions
From the North
From the M5 at Junction 8 take the M50 which leads onto the A40. Continue
until you reach Monmouth. At Monmouth traffic lights turn left in to the
A4136 and go over the old stone bridge. At the first mini roundabout bear left,
at the second mini roundabout continue straight ahead. You will be on this
road for approx 6 miles.
After Staunton village you will come to a junction with traffic lights called
Berry Pike. Continue straight ahead here. Shortly after this junction is a
staggered crossroads with a closed-down pub on the left-hand-side that was
called The Pike House. Turn left at the crossroads and continue for about a
mile. You will now be approaching a crossroads sign with the brown
camping/caravan symbol. Turn left at the crossroads into Bracelands Drive
and after a few hundred yards you will see Christchurch reception, where you
need to report for all three campsites.
Warning: Do not take any road for The Forest of Dean or Symonds Yat
before reaching Monmouth as they are unsuitable for large vehicles.
On turning left into Bracelands Drive: Please be careful not to overshoot
this junction as the next turning on the left leads to Symonds Yat and is
unsuitable for large vehicles.
From the East (Via Gloucester)
From Gloucester take the A40 to Ross-on-Wye Once you have passed through a village called Huntley take the next left at the Traffic Lights on to the A4136 (signposted to Monmouth) After about 8 miles you will come to a place called Edge End and soon you will come to a set of traffic lights by a Nissan garage. Turn right here and drive slowly through Berry Hill village. At the Crossroads go straight ahead and you will soon see the campsite reception.
From the West (via Monmouth)
From the M4 leave the motorway at Junction 24 onto the A449 which leads on
to the A40 and Monmouth/Ross-on-Wye. When you reach Monmouth traffic
lights, continue straight over and move into the right hand lane. At the
roundabout, complete a U turn and return to the traffic lights from the
opposite direction. (There is no right turn at the traffic lights.) Keep in the left
hand lane and turn left at the traffic lights onto the A4136 and go over the old
stone bridge.

From the South (via Bristol)
From the M4 at Junction 21 take the M48 over the Severn Bridge TOLL PAYABLE into Wales. After crossing the bridge, turn off the motorway at Junction 2 onto the A48 to Chepstow. At Chepstow turn left on to the B4228 and follow it all the way to Coleford where there are traffic lights with a police station on the right.
Go straight ahead and after approximately 250 yards take the turning
on your right signposted Berry Hill (there is also the brown caravan/camping
sign at this junction) When you get to the crossroads go straight ahead and
follow the road for about one mile. You will now be approaching a crossroads
sign with the brown camping/caravan symbol.
Turn left at the crossroads onto Bracelands Drive After a couple of hundred yards you will see Christchurch reception, where you need to report for all three campsites.
On turning left into Bracelands Drive: Please be careful not to overshoot
this junction as the next turning on the left leads to Symonds Yat and is
unsuitable for large vehicles.
Sat Nav
Please be aware that Sat Nav is likely to give you a route that involves
travelling to the campsites via Symonds Yat. Roads in this area are unsuitable
for large vehicles, so please do not follow this route if you are towing or in a
motorhome.
